Last night, my family and I went to have our Chap Goh Mei dinner together at 1 Utama Shopping Centre. We decided to have hotpot so we chose between Feng Wang Fu and Hai Di Lao. Since, we had been to Hai Di Lao a few times, this time, we decided to try a new hotpot shop which is located in the shopping mall. We sat down and ordered our food, starting with the soup which we ordered mushroom soup and tomato soup. Then, followed by meats and vegetables. There are a big difference between FWF Hotpot and HDL Hotpot. Here, the worker will not let you to make your own sauce unlike HDL where you are free to make yours. Seems like the sauce here are fixed with just onion, garlic, chilli, parsley, vinegar, soy sauce. Before making the sauce to you, the worker will ask whether you are okay with those ingredients. If you are not, feel free to cancel any of it. Then, we are given tea as our drink. At HDL, it is water or winter melon. After a while, our food are served by the robot, we are so shocked that the portion was so small which was really not enough to eat hahahaha.... at HDL, portion was big. At both places, we always like to order half portion per plate. The half portion at FWF is smaller that the half portion at HDL. So, we ordered half more plate of meat and meatballs. Just this, it costs RM212. With the same food ordered at HDL, it only cost RM120. That's a big differences there. I guess the next time I eat hotpot, I will definitely just go to HDL and enjoy my food....
