Sweet Potato Wagyu Gnocchi. For a dish with such a mouthful of a name, the serving size was pretty small. But what do you expect from fine dining food?
Together with my colleagues, we had dinner at one of the fancy restaurants in Cebu City. The place served Mediterranian cuisine and it was located on a hill in the uptown part of the city.
I'm not used to fine dining and Mediterranian cuisine. When it came to ordering our main course, the words wagyu and gnocchi on their menu caught my attention. I can't remember the last time I've had wagyu or if I'd ever had it before, honestly. And I recently watched a YouTube Shorts on how to make gnocchi and oddly, how to pronounce it (nyow kee).
The dish came and I was trying hard to mask my disappointment in seeing the service size. I had to remind myself that I was in a fine dining restaurant.
I tasted the food and it was divine! The beef was tender and the sauce was something I'd never tasted before. It was savory and sweet. The gnocchi was neither tough nor chewy, just the right amount of softness. Needless to say, I was really satisfied with the dish despite the small serving.
If you find yourself in Cebu City and looking for a fancy restaurant, I'd definitely recommend this place.
