Happy 2nd Birthday Bon
Time flies
It seemed just like yesterday when cat mom Mowe had her second batch of litters outside. It was raining hard then, and they were at the terrace wherein they could get wet. We decided to bring them in, so the kittens wouldn't feel cold. Unfortunately, only Bon survived the kitten stage. He had two siblings that didn't make it. Fast forward to two years later, here is Bon now. He's been a part of the family since, so we felt that we should once again celebrate his second birthday.
Not cake people
I would not consider us to be cake people. We only celebrate with a cake on birthdays, once a year. My birthday's in June; my daughter's July. We added the celebration of Bon's birthday last year. It was a tough year as we lost Mom in May. Our birthday celebrations were simple and focused on celebrating being alive and thankful.
Story behind this cake
If you're a fur parent of a cat, you know that they're not allowed to eat anything with chocolates. This was technically not a cat cake. The idea came by when I saw an IG post from Croquembouche Factory. I was fascinated with their cake designs that I mentioned it to my daughter. We usually have a new cake each year for our birthdays. I was expecting to try this next year. Lo and behold, imagine my surprise when my daughter received the cake delivery this morning. She told me it was a two-in-one thing. We get to celebrate Bon's birthday, and we get to enjoy a new cake. LOL! Oh, the cats got fried chicken for their meals today.
Cream puff tower
The cake is more accurately a cream puff tower. Do check out their site for more of their lovely designs. This one is the smallest size. I was so fascinated that I took lots of photos in details including the back of the tower. I'm not a fan of cream puffs but this one is really yummy. It's worth the try. It's so lovely to look at but we need to eat it so it won't go to waste. LOL!
Happy birthday Bon
Bon and the other kitties bring us so much joy. They have somehow filled in Mom's place. At least I wouldn't be too sad with Mom's loss since I have the cats surrounding me. We wish that Bon and the others will be with us for a long time. They have become part of our small family. Until our next celebration...
