C's Rice Meal...
Meaty and fatty :)
Love the veggies, except the cabbage...
Perez' Rice Platter...
Whilst Italians adore their pasta and the west like their bread, we on the other hand love our rice meals!
I may have mentioned previously that rice is a staple food here in our country. Maybe it's part of our culture. It's been so for as long as I can remember. Our ancestors may have had sweet potatoes and other root crops as the main food during their time, but rice came and stayed, hehe!
And while writing this, I was suddenly reminded of the farmboy's nephew when he was but a very young boy, 6 years old if my memory is right. He and his grandma had just finished having their snacks (of bread and milk) when a few minutes later, the boy was asking her granny to prepare his food saying he was hungry because he didn't eat rice, lol! It's funny you say but that's how we love our rice.
Anyway, these photos are just some of those plates we enjoyed most recently. The first three photos were sometime last week when we ran some errands. We were really hungry so the husband drove to the nearest casual diner. We didn't want to wait long so we ordered C's Rice. At first sight, the food doesn't look delicious. That's my initial thought but glad I was wrong. The veggies with ham are tasty, well, except the cabbage which I don't really like.
The last two was my plate at Perez' Diner. Nothing fancy, just a usual rice meal consisting of some veggies, a pair of Lumpiang Shanghai, an egg which we call "Sunny-Side-Up" and a piece of chicken, fried.
These are the usual set of meals in the region and they serve them in less amount of time which is good when one is really hungry, hehe!
Now, I'm feeling famished, the husband just arrived from his father's place and I have to make dinner!
Until then, cheers to a lovely day!
