Another great weekend start for my wife Tiffany and me as we participated in the Central Florida Navy League's 14th Annual Wounded Warfighter Lone Sailor 5K /10K event this morning.
This was the sixth time we have participated in this event and it's one of our favorites.
It's a very patriotic vibe and the medals are always amazing.
There were only 304 participants this year with 254 finishers or at least it felt that way. Tiffa agreed with me. Not sure if the budget had taken a hit, but overall it still is one of the nicest atmospheres to be around and the run itself is in Baldwin Park, which is one of my favorite parks in Central Florida.
I always seem to luck out and get a wonderful photo of the skyline as the morning is setting in. We were there when it was pitch dark, since we had to get our bib and of course get a good parking spot.
I was relatively happy with my results, as I came in 69th overall out of the 254 finishers and 43rd for males as well as #1 in my age group for males, so not a bad run for me. Tiffany power walked the whole thing as she is still fighting through some injuries and getting over a bad cold.
I cover more about the run and pictures of the medals in my Actifit post:
