Cherry blossom at Kungsträdgården is full in bloom! 🌸🌸🌸

This year, after seeing the cherry blossoms in full bloom in Japan, I was able to see them in full bloom in Stockholm a month later.

This is the time of year when the Japanese Association of Stockholm holds its Cherry Blossom Festival, but again this year the event was cancelled due to Covid19.　Since Covid19 has been declared over in Sweden, we thought that the festival would be held this year, but the infection is still continuing in Japan, so I think the decision was made to cancel the festival this year as well.

The cherry trees in the Royal Gardens in central Stockholm were a gift from the Japanese government to the Swedish government as a token of friendship.　Every year at this time of year, a cherry blossom festival is held to coincide with the blooming of the cherry trees, but it is a great pity that the festival was cancelled this year as well.　We hope to hold the festival next year so that everyone can enjoy the coming of spring.

I hadn't seen my friend in a while on this day, so after the hanami I went for a walk to Stockholm Palace.　It was a very warm and sunny day, and I felt good about the walk.　The number of tourists in the old town seems to be increasing compared to before, and I only hope that the economy, which has been stagnant due to Corona, will recover soon.　Seeing these cherry blossoms in full bloom made me feel that this year will be a good one.

ストックホルムでも桜が満開になりました

今年は日本で満開の桜をいた後、１か月してストックホルムでも満開の桜を見ることが出来ました。

この時期はストックホルム日本人会が開催する桜まつりがあるのですが、今年もCovid19の為に開催は中止になりました。　スウェーデンではCovid19の終息宣言が出たので、今年は開催するかなと思ったのですが、日本ではまだまだ感染が続いているということで、今年も中止を決定したのだと思います。

ストックホルムの中心街にある、この王立庭園の桜は昔日本政府がスウェーデン政府に友情のあかしとして贈られた桜の木々です。　毎年この時期には満開の桜が見れるため、その開花の時期に合わせて桜まつりが開催されるのですが、今年も中止になってとても残念です。　来年こそ、開催してみんなで春の訪れを楽しみたいものです。

この日は久しぶりに友人に会ったので、花見の後はストックホルム宮殿まで散歩に行きました。　とても暖かい陽気の日で、気分良く散歩が出来ました。　旧市街では観光客の数も前に比べて増えているようで、コロナで低迷した経済も、早く回復して欲しいと願うばかりです。　この満開の桜を見ると、今年こそいいことがあると感じることができました。
