On our last night in our staycation in Marco Polo, my boyfriend and his friends scheduled a visit to a nearby and famous modern French-inspired restaurant that serves french pastry, deli, wine, pizza, pasta, gelato to name a few. The place is called La Vie Parisienne.
I've known this restaurant for ages as it's only a walking distance from my college campus. I've been meaning to check out this place but haven't had the chance and perhaps a bit scared to go alone, too! I've always perceived this place to be serving only wine and cheese back then.
Not a 100% teetotaller, but I don't drink anything beyond 6% alcohol content or those drinks that look like juice should be fine (until I start to palpitate and find it hard to breathe 😂). Now you get why this place isn't just on my mind when it comes to food! This prejudice was corrected when I, together with my college buddies, visited La Vie during the Chinese New Year in 2020. We went to their newest branch up the hilly parts of Cebu City. That's when things became clearer to me and I started to fall in love with the place.
On this particular visit to their Lahug branch, we ordered Pizza for dinner. I could no longer recall the rest of the details of this visit as something unpleasant took place right after dinner. My brain found a way to erase all of it for the sake of keeping my sanity intact and unharmed. But I do remember being amazed by the place's interior, especially the wine cellar. It's nothing big but the way wines and other drinks were arranged was in a way comforting and pleasing. It was nighttime and the room's (dinning space) atmosphere was warm and cozy like the first breeze of summer. We dined outside where it was equally magical.
At the moment, I have no plans of going back to this place again even if it's just one ride away from where I'm currently working. But if friends would ask, maybe it's time to make new memories! Let's see!
