Our first full day in Copenhagen treated us well.
We decided to skip breakfast at our hotel and instead go to a sandwich shop called Smaksloege. This place had some awesome sandwiches. They’re generous with he ingredients and they tasted great. A perfect mix of cheese, ham, vegetables and bacon.
had set us up with a spa visit at midday. This was a surprise to me as part of my birthday that’s coming up at the end of the month. I’ve never been to a spa before but it was great. I got a full body massage before we spent 30 minutes in a private jacuzzi with drinks, smoothies and some fondue. We were supposed to just take a standard bath but they had the capacity to upgrade us for free. Yes please! It was dark in there so all I got was this picture of some slippers.
We chilled out for the rest of the day. We went to get an awesome burger at a joint called Halifax. We were looking around for a while and found only sandwich bars and cafes but we persevered until we found a burger shop. I’m so glad we didn’t just settle for a sandwich because this is one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The loaded fries with bacon and cheese dip on the side was heavenly.
After a nap at the hotel we headed back out to eat and get some drinks. We went to Pincho Nation which served tapas and some great drinks for to enjoy. I’m more of a beer guy and I was happy to see they had some Grimbergen. One of my favorite beer brands that we don’t see a lot of in Norway. This restaurant served tapas which was perfect as we were still full from the burger.
We ended the night at an arcade bar called Bip Bip Bar. We love to play pinball and was super excited to get here. The pictures showed more pinball tables than they actually had which sucked. The tables weren’t all that good either and seemed poorly maintained. The balls didn’t launch properly and took ages to reset when you lost. We did however enjoy some Crazy Taxi and Tekken 3. beat my ass at Tekken. She’s a champ at this game it turns out.
