Celebrating Global Pizza Party: Community, flavor, and cryptocurrencies [Esp/Eng]

El jueves 22 de mayo nos reunimos para celebrar la Quinta Fiesta Mundial de la Pizza Anual, conmemorando el Día de la Pizza Bitcoin. Este evento marca un hito en la historia de las criptomonedas, recordando la primera transacción comercial con Bitcoin: la compra de dos pizzas en 2010 por 10,000 BTC, una cantidad que hoy equivale a aproximadamente mil millones de dólares.

La organización del evento estuvo a cargo de Hive account@rlathulerie, Hive account@sugarelys, Hive account@rostego, Hive account@claudimar y Hive account@ulisg, quienes, en apenas dos días, lograron dar forma a esta increíble reunión con el respaldo de Pizza DAO. El encuentro tuvo lugar en la pizzería artesanal Il Nonno, en Sabanamar, un lugar famoso por la calidad y el sabor de sus preparaciones. Alrededor de 50 personas asistieron, y aunque aún soy nueva en este fascinante mundo, disfruté muchísimo la oportunidad de compartir con otros miembros de la comunidad.

Desde el primer momento, el ambiente fue muy acogedor. Entre bocados de pizza, intercambiamos anécdotas, conocimientos y muchas risas. También aprovechamos para capturar el momento con algunas fotos grupales que reflejaban la energía del evento. Uno de los momentos más emocionantes fue el sorteo de tres termos con el logo de Pizza DAO y una franela de Hive. Aunque no gané nada, fue divertido ver la emoción de todos mientras esperaban con ilusión ganar.

Más allá de la celebración, este encuentro reforzó el sentido de comunidad y aprendizaje en torno a las criptomonedas. Sin duda, fue una experiencia inolvidable.

On Thursday, May 22, we gathered to celebrate the Fifth Annual World Pizza Party, commemorating Bitcoin Pizza Day. This event marks a historic milestone in cryptocurrency history, recalling the first-ever commercial Bitcoin transaction, the purchase of two pizzas in 2010 for 10,000 BTC, an amount that today is worth around one billion dollars.

The event was organized in just two days by Hive account@rlathulerie, Hive account@sugarelys, Hive account@rostego, Hive account@claudimar, and Hive account@ulisg, with support from Pizza DAO. It took place at Il Nonno, an artisanal pizzeria in Sabanamar, known for its delicious, high-quality creations. Around 50 people attended, and although I'm still fairly new to this fascinating world, I had an amazing time connecting with other community members.

From the start, the atmosphere was warm and energetic. Between bites of pizza, we exchanged stories, knowledge, and plenty of laughs. We also took the chance to capture group photos that truly reflected the excitement of the night. One of my favorite moments was the raffle, where three thermoses featuring the Pizza DAO logo and a Hive t-shirt were up for grabs. I didn’t win anything, but it was so entertaining to watch everyone eagerly anticipating their chance!

Beyond the fun and celebration, this gathering reinforced the sense of community and the spirit of learning around cryptocurrencies. Without a doubt, it was an unforgettable experience.
