Hi, Hive Runners, how’s everyone doing? It’s been a while since I last posted about my running activities. After a few months of not running, I’ve finally started training again. This time, I haven’t started running yet, but I’m beginning with exercises to strengthen my abs, legs, and hips to avoid injuries.
My friends and I are taking a TRX class. I thought it might not be too hard, but after trying it, it turned out to be quite challenging because the resistance we use is our own body weight. It’s also hard to adjust your body position to stay stable.
We did several exercises, but unfortunately I forgot their names. However, one of the exercises we did was a plank with our feet hanging from the TRX straps. It turns out this plank is very difficult to balance. It’s easier to do a plank with your feet flat on the floor.
However, after I looked up the exercises I did on Google, it turned out they were called the TRX Plank—we did planks with our feet hooked into the TRX straps—the TRX Low Row, which has us standing at a 45-degree angle, and the TRX Standing Fallout, where we lean our bodies forward; we did several repetitions of each.
But unfortunately, my friend didntl't manage to capture some of the movement.
After finishing a few exercises, we wrapped up the session with a group photo and said goodbye to our trainer.
Since we did it all in one go, the DOMS I felt made my arms too sore to move, but since I went back to the gym, I countered it by doing shoulder exercises so the soreness would go away—muscle tears can heal quickly that way.
Let’s keep trying out different sports and taking on new challenges
