A World of Coffee and Chocolate
Mmmm! For a coffee and chocolate lover like me, I would then say, that this is paradise! Things have gone crazy over the past couple of months - a lot of things have changed. The things we used to know and do are out of reach now.
So are my crazy friends, who will just call out of nowhere and expect you to be free to meet them in an instant, like you don't have any prior plans at all. Since we cannot hang out together right now, let me just reminisce some great times in this place called, "The Chocolate Room".
We all used to work in the same company, until we moved on to different jobs a couple of years back. Since then, we met with each other more frequently that when we were working in the same office.
We called ourselves, "The Weekdays Gang", as we don't really wait for the weekends to meet each other for lunch or dinner, and then coffee until the shops closed on us.
We came across The Chocolate Room when it was suggested by one time we ran out of ideas of a nice place to hang out in. The place was conveniently located right across the place where he lived. Hah! Cheeky little him! But then again, we said, why not, the name of the place sounded appealing!
The place was not hard to find, it was just right at the main road but parking was a little bit of a pain.
Avee and I both ordered cappuccino. The barista, a jolly fellow Pinoy, happily took our order.
Guess who got cup 1, and who got cup 2?!
We could not help but laugh, at the childish disappointment on Avee's face when they served her cup of coffee which she eagerly waited for when she saw mine.
The fully bloomed flower became a little floret!
Well, that quickly disappeared as we just started listening to 's chronicles of his recent South Korean trip; and after all the coffee was great nonetheless.
I love coffee, but even love having it with friends. From meaningful adult conversations, or just childish nonsense and corny jokes to just simply quietly sitting together (barely though).
I look forward to #whencoronaisover, when we can finally get together again and brush off the cobwebs that have formed over our heads when we just sat at home for many weeks. They are my bunch of crazies, who give balance to my crazy-laden life.
Let us pray that this pandemic goes away soon, and get back to our old normal (if at all possible). Until then, stay safe people!
❤️ Arlyn
PS:
If you're wondering what happened to the chocolate, well, we just simply checked them out but did not buy. Haha!
