Customs & Traditions
Customs and traditions are terms which are often used together. However a number of the people do not know the difference between customs and traditions and perhaps do not know what these words fully mean.
When a particular thing or a particular activity is continuously done and it becomes common to a certain group of people, which can be a family, party, community or even a country it becomes a customs. It is considered the appropriate manner of behavior or conduct widely accepted by the people it is common to. A custom can be anything and it can be started at anytime. Customs are sometimes not obeyed and is considered irrelevant by a few people in a group, but as long as the majority of the people in that group considers acceptable and commonly practices it, it is still a custom.
A custom is what transforms into a tradition. A tradition is a custom that has been followed for so many and is being passed on to younger generations. A custom can only be practiced by a particular generation for a certain period of time and it ceases to be a custom whenever it's stopped. Now when customs are passed on from one generation to the younger ones keeps going in the same trend it is now a tradition.
Culture
Culture entails the full life pattern of a man. Living pattern ranging from music, marriage, food, religion, clothing, art, etc. Culture explains the characteristics of a particular group of people (tribe, country, etc). These characteristics includes what we wear and how we wear it, what we eat and how we prepare it, the kind of crafts we make, our religios practices etc. A man without a culture is like a man without an origin, because our culture is what makes who we are.
