Hello hive
This is the most disastrous cake I've ever made my whole life as a baker (first and the last. Ever!)
If anybody can relate a chocolate wrap cake is a cake decorated using chocolate wrap. The chocolate wrap is made by melting chocolate and using the melted chocolate to draw shapes on a plastic wraps then you allow to cool before wrapping it around the cake (first coating already done) to form designs before adding finishing touch.
I'm sorry for all these epistle buh I tried getting pictures to explain it or use as back up but I'm handicapped by the rules of this platform not to bring a content that's not mine in here because I didn't snap one while making this
A friend of mine that has seen me bake referred me to a client and we got talking, told me it's his son's birthday and he needs a cake for him and he's not that buoyant to pay for a professional (the bill was too much to bear)
So I thought why not? I'll do a very good job than most of these people we're talking about here (lemme feel myself smallππ). He was so happy and thank me because I just told him to get me the ingredients I'll use (even used some I had at home for him).
I baked a very fluffy and mouth watering three flavours of cake for him (vanilla, chocolate and strawberry). Had plans to make it look presentable and childish (since it's for a baby). I'll make it three tiers and make the decorations chocolate before wrapping it with chocolate wrap (little did I know...π©π)
I melted the chocolate and drew the shapes on the plastic wrap and set it aside to cool.
I started doing the first coating of icing to while away time, so at the time I feel the chocolate is dried up I carried the plastic wrap and I wrapped it on my cake (lolπ)
Waited for few seconds for it to set and voila! I knew immediately I did rubbish π
I tried remaking it buh still yet it still looked like rubbish to me
I had to talk to my client about my mistake and it amazed me how he was understanding about the whole thing...
A day I'll never forget in history!
I learnt my lessons though as I never the same mistake again and I'm better at what I do now.
