Yesterday morning I got the boys to school for their half day. They didn't really need to go but they enjoy school and it is so close it's not a big chunk of my day to pick them up. They were out at 11am and soon we were back home. Once back I remembered that I needed to pull the turkey from the freezer to get it thawing. What I pulled was a bag of thighs and a bag of drums but each was a solid block.
I had no other choice than to do water bath thawing of them. I got the luke warm water covering both bags and let them sit. They are still in the water this morning and feel nearly thawed. It will make cooking go a lot faster with it all thawed.
Over the morning I was plugging away nicely at my story. I found a part of chapter 7 that I had to work in but it slotted in perfectly. Chapter 9 went well over the day and by the afternoon I had a good point to end it. The chapter covers about 5-7pm with each of the next 3 covering about an hour and a half each. The next chapter, 10, is going to be fun to write before a lot of editing for the last 2 chapters.
I can't explain well enough just how important this timeline spreadsheet is to my being able to keep this story together. Since I am working with an 18 hour time frame it is easy to put it down in this fashion, I don't think this would work well for stories that take place over longer time periods, though it may and I just haven't tried.
I'm getting there. I have more than enough to dump into the story to push me past the goal but I would still have to edit it. Though with the next days being busy I might just have to.
While I got dinner made I was able to throw darts for a while and am finding my groove. I've seen the practice rings for sale and I am thinking I need to make myself some for helping dial in my accuracy. I'm getting closer groupings but they are not close enough all the time. It's also rather cool that I am able to throw ambidextrously. When my right arm is a little tired or sore I can switch to left handed and my accuracy is nearly the same.
The Kraken played last night and I didn't bother to watch as they were at home again so most likely were to lose. But miracle of miracle they beat San Jose 7-1. I think this is only their 2nd win at home this season so far.
Soaked for a while but tired hit and was out before 10 but then the battle to get the boys to bed ensued.
Today we are going to our friend's for Thanksgiving this afternoon. We are bringing the turkey and potatoes for the meal. I have to get as much writing done as I can since many of the hours in the day will be taken. There is the standard footbally games on today and the normal holiday shows.
Hope everyone has a good holiday and can spend time with family and friends.
