The land is so noble that even though we have spent months without visiting or giving it affection, today it waited for us with fruits, mangos, avocados, topocho, some papayas and a great yaca fruit, they have been part of what we could gather to bring home, unfortunately we did not have more space.
The soursop of hill Annona Montana is very harvested in the area and you can see some fruits that are about to ripen. Unfortunately, they were too high to be harvested, their flavor is very sweet, similar to the common soursop Annona Muricata. I hope to have more luck next time I go.
The summer has been strong and if you want to say inclement with the vegetation of the area, with which the mango trees have not looked very good, the crops have not been as numerous as in previous years, however, due to heat and sunshine product of the summer, its fruits this year are sweeter than usual, so my mother has given a good banquet today and do not hesitate to bring a few mangos for the house, some to share and others for her to eat with my son.
My delirium the avocados have been lucky this year, because it has been a great year for their harvest, although these, in particular, are small since they are Creole, their flavor and texture is really delicious. The papayas are still green, which makes them perfect for another of my delusions, the green papaya candy, or milky candy, so I'll probably show you some of that this week. He vuelto a los lunes de frutas y verduras, hoy precisamente muy temprano hemos salido a la finca de mi familia, después de tanto tiempo, al fin he vuelto, a respirar aire puro, a ver otro paisaje que no fuera la pared del patio de mi casa o la ventana que da a la calle (cualquiera que lea pensara que he estado en confinamiento absoluto), hemos ido a ver como se encuentra el terreno y estudiar la posibilidad de sembrar algo ahora que comiencen las lluvias formalmente.
La tierra es tan noble que aun cuando hemos pasado meses sin ir a visitarla ni darle cariño, hoy nos esperó con frutos, mangos, aguacates, topocho, algunas papayas y una gran fruta yaca, han sido parte de lo que pudimos recolectar para traer a casa, lamentablemente no teníamos más espacio.
El guanábano de loma Annona Montana, es muy cosechado en la zona y se pueden ver algunos frutos que están por madurar. Lamentablemente estaban muy altos para ser cosechados, su sabor es muy dulce, similar al de la guanábana común Annona Muricata. Espero tener más suerte la próxima vez que vaya.
El verano ha sido fuerte y si se quiere decir inclemente con la vegetación de la zona, con lo cual los arboles de mango no se han visto muy bien, las cosechas no han sido tan numerosas como en años anteriores, sin embargo, debido al calor y el sol producto del verano, sus frutos este año son mas dulce de lo habitual, asi que mi madre se ha dado un buen banquete el dia de hoy y no dudo en traer unos cuantos mangos para la casa, algunos para compartir y otros para ella comerlos con mi hijo.
Mi delirio los aguacates han tenido suerte este año, pues ha sido un gran año para su cosecha, aunque estos en particular son pequeños, puesto que son criollos, su sabor y textura es realmente deliciosa. Las papayas están aun verdes, lo cual las hace perfecta para otro de mis delirios, el dulce de papaya verde o dulce de lechosa, así que es probable que esta semana les muestre algo de eso. La verdad es que fue un día muy productivo y genial.
