At work, we filmed a promotional video where I appeared as a salesperson, while other women pretended to be customers. The idea was to showcase the complete experience of choosing a wine, serving it, and pairing it with a small cheese board, creating that relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere we want to offer.
Since that particular wine was opened for the video, I tasted it off-camera because it was one I hadn't had the chance to try before. It was the Lapostolle Grand Selection Merlot, and to be perfectly honest, I think it's the first time I haven't liked a wine. I felt it lacked balance in its flavor… now I don't know if it's the vintage or the wine itself.
But this is part of my job, the tasting, comparing, and training my palate to better understand what I'm offering.
En el trabajo grabamos un video de promoción donde yo salí en las tomas como vendedora, mientras otras chicas simulaban ser las clientas. La idea era mostrar la experiencia completa de elegir el vino, servirlo y acompañarlo con una pequeña tabla de quesos, creando ese ambiente de desconexión y disfrute que queremos ofrecer.
Aprovechando que se descorchó ese vino para el video, lo probé detrás de cámaras porque era uno que no había tenido la oportunidad de probar. Era el Lapostolle Grand Selection Merlot y, siendo totalmente honesta, creo que es la primera vez que un vino no me gusta. Sentí que le faltaba equilibrio en el sabor… ahora no sé si sea la añada o el vino en sí.
Pero esto es parte de mi trabajo. Probar, comparar y educar mi paladar para entender cada vez mejor lo que estoy ofreciendo.
