Hace un tiempo tuve la oportunidad de visitar una pequeña granja muy a las afueras de la ciudad, alguien nos había comentado sobre este lugar en el cual se dedican a la cría de pollos brasileños para su venta así como sus huevos para incubar de manera casera, me llamaba mucho la atención, pues, se decía que este tipo de pollos eran de un tamaño inusual, exageradamente grandes, lo que los hacía muy costosos, una tarde de visita al campo decidimos pasar a conocer esta granja y todo lo que allí puede ver me dejó impresionada, aproveché la oportunidad y recorrí todo el lugar, tomé algunas fotos y es lo que hoy quiero compartir con ustedes, les mostraré el lugar y todos los animales que habían y aunque la granja era pequeña era muy bonita.
Some time ago I had the opportunity to visit a small farm on the outskirts of the city, someone had told us about this place where they are dedicated to raising Brazilian chickens for sale as well as their eggs to hatch in a homemade way, It caught my attention, well, it was said that this type of chickens were of an unusual size, exaggeratedly large, which made them very expensive, one afternoon visiting the countryside we decided to visit this farm and everything you can see there I was impressed, I took the opportunity and went around the place, I took some photos and that is what I want to share with you today, I will show you the place and all the animals that were there and although the farm was small it was very beautiful.
A las afueras del lugar hay unos invernaderos, donde, dicen tener plantas de pimentón y ají, realmente no llegué a ver las plantas porque no me acerqué, había mucho sol y calor pero de lejos si se lograba notar algo, no llamó tanto mi atención ya que en realidad quería ver los animales y eso era lo que más me interesaba.
On the outskirts of the place there are some greenhouses, where, they say they have paprika and chili plants, I really didn't get to see the plants because I didn't get close, there was a lot of sun and heat but from a distance if you could notice something, it didn't call my attention so much since I really wanted to see the animals and that was what interested me the most.
Al acercarnos a la entrada nos recibió un señor muy amable pero que a su vez no podía permitirnos el acceso a la granja ya que no se encontraban los dueños, por lo que tuvimos que esperar unos 20 minutos aproximadamente hasta que estos llegaron y nos autorizaron a entrar en compañía del señor que nos recibió primero quien nos iba mostrando todo el lugar como todo un recorrido guiado.
As we approached the entrance we were greeted by a very friendly man but who in turn could not allow us access to the farm since the owners were not there, so we had to wait approximately 20 minutes until they arrived and authorized us to enter in the company of the gentleman who received us first who was showing us the whole place as a guided tour.
Entramos a la parte de los corrales y fui allí donde vimos por primera vez a los famosos pollos brasileños, el lugar estaba dividido por cubículos donde se encontraban los pollos de manera organizada, cada cubículo tenía una numeración, la cual servía para identificar los huevos a la hora de organizarlos en los cartones.
We entered the part of the pens and I went there where we saw the famous Brazilian chickens for the first time, the place was divided by cubicles where the chickens were in an organized manner, each cubicle had a number, which served to identify the eggs by time to organize them in the cartons.
A la hora de recoger los huevos estos son organizados en los cartones de acuerdo al número del cubículo del que provienen, todos los cartones tenían las divisiones enumeradas, de acuerdo a lo que entendí al respecto esto se hace con el fin de no mezclar los huevos, ya que serán incubados y de esta forma habrá variedad.
When collecting the eggs, these are organized in the cartons according to the number of the cubicle they come from, all the cartons had the numbered divisions, according to what I understood about it, this is done in order not to mix the eggs , since they will be incubated and in this way there will be variety.
Comenzamos a pasar por los cubículos y ver todos los pollos, realmente eran enormes, tenían plumaje negro y según lo que pude observar eran algo agresivos, al menos a mí me dio miedo acercarme mucho a pesar de que estaban bien encerrados y no había posibilidad alguna de que pudieran escaparse, siento que en las fotos no se alcanza a preciar bien su tamaño pero les aseguro que en persona son unos animales gigantes.
We began to go through the cubicles and see all the chickens, they really were huge, they had black plumage and according to what I could observe they were somewhat aggressive, at least I was afraid to get too close even though they were well enclosed and there was no possibility that they could escape, I feel that in the photos it is not possible to appreciate their size but I assure you that in person they are giant animals.
A algunos de ellos les faltaban las plumas en el pescuezo y eso se debe a que se peleaban entre ellos y se arrancan las plumas unos a otros, lo que comprobaba mi sospecha de que eran agresivos.
Some of them were missing the feathers on their necks and that is because they were fighting among themselves and plucking each other's feathers, which confirmed my suspicion that they were aggressive.
Pasamos al área de atrás donde habían otros cubículos pero estos tenían una zona especial donde las aves colocaban los huevos y luego estos eran recogidos por los encargados.
We went to the back area where there were other cubicles but these had a special area where the birds placed the eggs and then these were collected by the managers.
A un lado habían varias jaulas con una gran cantidad de codornices pequeñas, la verdad es que esa fue la primera vez que vi codornices, me parecieron muy lindas y adorables, tuve suerte de poder verlas porque era la primera vez que tenían estas aves en esa granja, antes de esas no habían otras.
On one side there were several cages with a large number of small quails, the truth is that that was the first time I saw quails, they seemed very cute and adorable, I was lucky to be able to see them because it was the first time they had these birds in that farm, before those there were no others.
También habían varios conejos, sus jaulas estaban en una parte a la cual no pude tener acceso desde los corrales, sin embargo, pude verlos desde su parte trasera y logré capturar a 2 de ellos en fotos, también eran grandes y muy lindos, de acuerdo con los encargados habían varios más pero solo a estos 2 logré ver, estaban separados cado uno en una jaula pero se mantenían cerca de la división y parecían estar juntos.
There were also several rabbits, their cages were in a part that I could not access from the pens, however, I was able to see them from the back and managed to capture 2 of them in photos, they were also big and very cute, okay with the managers there were several more but only these 2 I managed to see, they were separated each one in a cage but they stayed close to the division and seemed to be together.
Así fue mi pequeño recorrido conociendo una granja de pollos brasileños, donde además habían otros animales, no eran muchos pero el lugar no era tan grande como para tener tantos animales, fue lindo poder conocer esta granja, hace tiempo que había escuchado de ellas y sus enormes pollos brasileños, pues, son famosos en esa zona por esa razón y finalmente pude ir a verlos, la experiencia fue agradable, las personas allí fueron muy amables al mostrarnos sus instalaciones, aclarar dudas y permitirme tomar fotografías, espero pronto poder visitar un nuevo lugar como este y ver otros animales.
This was my little tour knowing a Brazilian chicken farm, where there were also other animals, there were not many but the place was not big enough to have so many animals, it was nice to be able to visit this farm, I had heard about them and their huge Brazilian chickens, well, they are famous in that area for that reason and I was finally able to go see them, the experience was pleasant, the people there were very kind to show us their facilities, clarify doubts and allow me to take pictures, I hope soon to be able to visit a new place like this and see other animals.
