AKITA! STOP! STOP IT!
I yelled at the top of my voice. I heard gasps from some of the council leaders standing by, looking helpless and shocked.
Akita turned to look at me, her face paled a little. I could see shock written all over her face that quickly shifted to terror. She shook her head and implored me. "Eliana, please stay out of this?" I was going to respond when I heard another voice join the ongoing pandemonium.
"Ohh, you want her to stay out of this? Why? So you could spread your lies?" Aila, the magnetism manipulation teacher said, appearing out of thin air. I knew she had the ability to glamorize herself and melt into any space, becoming invisible sort of but it takes considerable energy from her which she seldom did. She'd been in the midst of the uproar all along.
"They are not lies!" Akita said fiercely. "I know what you are up to. That's the reason you killed Uncle Ai, because I told him about your plans."
"Shut up!" Aila screamed back at her. The military truck groaned under the power of her voice, extracted itself from the front entrance where it was stuck and reversed back slowly to stop beside the fence.
I could not believe my ears. Everything was starting to add up. "Aila?" I wanted an explanation.
Then Inahan Elena fell to the ground. Our matriarch was free from the choking hold and unconscious. She's one of the strongest of us and would wake up in a few minutes.
"Aila, what is the meaning of this?" A council leader bellowed, attempting to take control of the situation. Aila waved her hand and the council leader's head twisted backwards. He was dead on the ground. All these happened in a split second.
It all became clear to me. "Akita, you are not doing this. Are you?" I had to ask.
Akita gritted her teeth, her eyes held so much anger as she stared at Aila and back at me. That was the confirmation I needed.
"No, I am not! She is a Judas," Akita declared in frustration, pointing at Aila. "She wants to become matriarch. She planned to use our abilities against the humans to rule them. She..." Akita began to choke. Aila must have used an ability we were unaware of to stop Akita from speaking.
"Stop it! Stop it!" I yelled at Aila this time around. I could not stand the look of pain in Akita's eyes.
Aila turned her murderous icy-blue eyes to look at me. "I said shut up! I need to think. I do not need to hear your pathetic voices. You are all weak! Except you Eliana…" Aila smiled in an evil way, and walked towards me. Akita was still choking, her face turned white.
I gasped in shock. I'd never seen Aila like this before. Then I felt a sharp, impatient tap on the door of my mind...
