It has only been ten days since my last update, but lots has changed since then. So I wanted to report how things are going with my first outdoor cannabis grow. There is good news and bad news... first the good news.. Still have 4 out of the 4 plants, none have died. The bad news is two of them had to be cut back heavily. A certain plant had to be cut back down to just one cola. While the other got away with keeping two. And the other two are mostly unaffected.

This one is hit or miss right now. It has flowers forming, but a couple buds started turning black on top so I had to clip off the dead parts. So we shall see if this gets to flower without rotting.
The best of the bunch, it has needed almost no care. And seems quite happy. No rot found yet and doing great. Maybe I should pull off those dead leaves.
The worst of the bunch, only has a single stalk left. I will need to stake this thing soon.
I probably should pull off some of the leaves that come lose without cutting.
So no idea when they will be ready? Another month maybe?
During flower its normal to drop some leaves, but a lot of this was due to them getting over watered by us and that tropical storm that came through.
Some of the buds are starting to look real tasty.
That poor single stalk plant.. almost nothing left. It was bad, fungus gnats were moving in and the flowers under the dead leaves were turning grey/black. So I had to cut off much of the plant. As only one cola was still looking good at the time. I think I made the right choice, if I did not do this. Fungus gnats could have become a huge problem.
Amazed the one next to it is almost completely fine.
I counted at least a 18 buds on one of them.. topping them really helped increase the colas.
Topping them twice during their veg period helped them stay shorter. I have a feeling they would have got taller if they did not get stressed with the over abundance of water this season.
Still have high hopes for setting a yield record..
Hopefully next year will go more smooth.
It seems like they are recovering. Even the ones that got cut back the most.. they look like they are back to growing again.
Next year I will top them at least once, maybe twice again. And see how tall they get. I think if I did not top them at all and they did well I may need a ladder to get to all the buds. Then again, I will be trying out autos next year outdoor. So maybe topping is kind of pointless since they will not get too tall anyways.
Really glad at least one of them seems happy.
The mega cola on this should be impressive, since the plant is now putting all its energy into a single cola.
Will post more updates as I have them, but hoping in another month or two it should be ready to harvest.
