... Sofia joined that strange dance, which made her feel like in a hypnotic trance, she could not explain what she felt, it was as if she had always done it, it was natural everything that was happening around her, those women dancing to the sound of their unusual chants, in that strange language, which she understood perfectly without much difficulty, it sounded like a hissing, like a whistle at the end of each sentence...
Sofia felt intoxicated, as if she had drunk a lot of wine, with a very strong energy that she herself could not contain, so she simply let herself go, as she had done since she arrived at that unusual meeting. They danced until almost dawn, but before the sun came up, that dance ended suddenly, just as it began; they began to pick up their clothes as if nothing had happened....
Sofia did the same; realizing her peculiar situation, for she did not know where it would all end, nor where it would go. When they had finished gathering and dressing, these women simply took her by the hands and led her through the forest; soon, they reached a small hut in the middle of many trees, this one looked as if it was abandoned, you could barely make out some clarity, and when you were close enough, upon entering, Sofia saw many wooden barrels with lids, pots weathered by soot.
And a fire that was lit in a small fireplace, from there came the clarity that she saw when she arrived, there were many jars filled with strange liquids, branches of different shapes piled in a corner, there were four cots in a corner of the room. At that moment, Sofia began to wonder what she was going to do there and where they would have her little brothers, she wondered what her destiny would have been.... She would soon find out.
As soon as she arrived, they held a meeting and sat her in the middle, they began to tell her that she had been chosen from birth, that it was her destiny, that she should realize that she had never been attacked by any animal despite living surrounded by them... and that they were going to prove it to her; from one of the wooden barrels, they took out a Cobra snake and placed it in front of her. Sofia was shocked to see that animal staring at her, but without fear. One of them said "Say hello"....
Sofia did not dare to move, then the snake moved and spoke to her, it said: "Hello Sofia", in the same language in which it was communicating with these three women. It was the language of the snakes, she could communicate perfectly with this animal; she was already understanding everything, undoubtedly she had to do with all this, but there was something she did not understand, why her, she did not ask, she only limited herself to continue observing and listening?
It was daylight, but these women went to sleep. Soon, Sofia also felt an uncontainable tiredness and also lay down on one of the cots, later she would see what to do, meanwhile, she had a place to be. As night fell, the three women got up, they looked strangely aged as if, suddenly, some years had settled on them in those few hours. Sofia, feeling strange, very thirsty, looked for water or something to drink and found nothing to quench her thirst.
They told her that they were going out and that they would bring her something to drink; but that she had to wait there, as she was still too weak to go out with them... from one of the rare bottles they had in an old cupboard, they took a viscous greenish liquid; as they drank it, soon the three of them changed their shapes, becoming three balls of fire that went out of the only window they had. Meanwhile, Sofia remained in that place, feeling weaker and weaker, she did not understand what was happening to her...
Almost at dawn, just before the rooster crowed, the three women arrived, they brought in a sack something that perhaps they had hunted, Sofia thought, but she was so weak, she could hardly see what was happening in the room, she was delirious in the cot as if she was with a strong fever, but she did not feel warm, but on the contrary, she was with a sepulchral cold. She could hardly breathe, when she felt someone put something liquid, warm, on her lips, this that they were giving her, little by little was reviving her, alerting her....
She drank it avidly, as if her life depended on it. When she was able to sit up, which was almost as soon as she finished drinking it, she was able to focus on the whole room and saw the three women smiling mockingly at her, they were rejuvenated again, as she had seen them the first time. Sofia looked around, she saw that there was something on the fire cooking, everything looked fine until that moment, normal, until she decided to look in the jar the liquid that had been given to her... it was blood that was still dripping from the sides. At that moment he realized the fate of his brothers and the children who had disappeared in his village and the surrounding area.... This was his destiny.
