This was the evening of our Anniversary where me and hubby decided to treat ourselves with a nice dinner. Both of us are fans of Asian cuisine, so our pick for the evening was also as per that. We picked up on the restaurant Ba Ban which is right now the best in town for the Chinese cuisine. It's fine dining and the place is really amazing, it took us on a nice culinary adventure and I must say the chef gave us a memorable experience with his expertise.
Not only is the food amazing here but also the ambiance and the service. More then the food also I enjoyed their service and if I would want to come back again I will come here only for their service which will pamper you to bits. Right from the time I called them to book a table for us, till we finished our dining it was all so amazing with them, the hostess was a jolly good South African girl and she charmed us with her bubbly nature.
I had booked for an outdoor seating, which I always prefer in this climate, but when we reached there I found out that the indoor seating was better then the outdoor and the attendant immediately changed the seats for us without any hassles or making us wait. We started our evening with a drink. Hubby enjoys his scotch and me these days have developed a taste for Negroni. Since the past few months whenever I have been out and wanted to have a drink, I have preferred to go with Negroni. I am also a fan of Red wine, but lately I am enjoying this one more.
For the repeat drink of hubby the bar guy goofed up and sent a different drink, he realized that and then sent the original one and gave us that drink on the house. That was very courteous of them.
Their signature dish is the Peking Duck, and you have to order that 2 days in advance. We had not ordered it, but we requested them if they could accommodate. The chef did consider our request and made us the dish. Hubby was super excited because it is his favorite dish and it had been a long time since last he had it.
So here comes out Peking Duck, the highlight of the evening
Making my roll with all the fillings. In this for me the taste depends on the plum sauce and this one was to perfection, also the duck was well prepared and there was no smell from it, which in many places I find that there is a smell and I get put off with that.
The other must have dish here is any of their Dimsums, which they are well known for. We ordered Prawns Dimsum with Black Truffle, it was again a wow dish.
We ordered one more dish of honey glazed prawns which was also too good, but I missed to click the picture of that :-) and then they served us the Desert which was again complimentary from their side for the celebrations. Our hostess Fatima was a a very sweet girl, all through out she made sure we were well attended and in between we had some small talks also with her. She is a very young girl full of dreams and hopes and she has a Indian boyfriend, this made us connected with her all the more.
