Hello everyone! Do you love food? me too! Who does not like eating delicious food right? There is always importance of food in our daily life. Because it is a basic need which everyone use to survive. Taste of food helps us decide what we like to eat. I am from Bangladesh and everyone here eats food with hands also cutlery sometimes. I also eat foods with bare hands not every food because there is specific way to eat foods and everything can’t be eaten with bare hands. In my opinion eating food with hands makes my experience more enjoyable like it makes the food tastier and gives satisfaction as well. Moreover, eating with hand helps me to eat more if I compare it with eating the food with fork or spoon.
There is a street food which is Fuchka it’s very cheap and desirable. The cost of it starts from 5 taka and there are varieties of sizes. The price depends on the number of how many pieces I am eating. For 5 pieces of Fuchka it costs 20 taka and in dollar approximately it’s 0.18$. I think it’s very cheap and everyone loves it. Fuchka is Bangladeshi version which is also known as Gol Gappa & Pani puri in India. Fuchka is eaten with sweet or sour or spice. Moreover, Fuchka is one of the most popular street foods in Bangladesh. Also this food is eaten with hand or spoon can also be used.
When vendors serve they put slices of boiled eggs on top of fillings in Fuchka and they use it for garnishing. Also, they provide tamarind water sauce in a small cup and it is used to pour inside the shells. Here I need to use a spoon to pour the tamarind water sauce into the shell. This thing makes the taste of Fuchka 100x times better because it has sour and spicy flavour. The crispy shell is filled with mashed potatoes and chickpeas which is mixed with fresh onions and cucumbers chopped into it.
I think anyone who has not yet tasted Fuchka or Pani Puri whatever you can call it people are missing out something heavenly. In different place Fuchka stand out with different tastes because of the ingredients. I believe that the stuffing is the main recipe. Which makes it yummy! This not just a food it’s a part of our emotion. I still remember when I was in school I used to have Fuchka everyday and without Fuchka I won’t feel good all day long I would feel the regret of not having it. I can eat upto 20 pieces in big size. That’s how much I love eating this food.
Anyways, having Fuchka does not make the hunger go away but for a while I would stay full and my mouth full of flavours it gives a satisfaction. Fuchka can’t be eaten 20 pieces everyday at least 5 pieces per day otherwise if I have more than that everyday then my tummy would be upset. During school time sometimes my mother stayed busy so if she’s not coming she would inform me and before coming to school she always gave me money so that if she can’t come then I can buy myself food. But she did ask me to avoid buying Fuchka because it won’t fill my hunger I would get hungry later on. But I still would buy Fuchka and lie to mom about it. Every kid used to purchase Fuchka there would be crowd and long line. Everyone has a craze for it I don’t know how to explain Fuchka is very addictive and once someone tastes it I don’t think anyone can ever forget the taste. So, whenever I eat this food I get nostalgic for having a memory of my school time.
I have also tried some expensive food and one of them is my favourite! Which is Japanese and it’s called Classic Bento. It’s for 1:2 and I can’t finish it by my own no matter how tasty it is. Here we have on the plate good amount of fried rice. Everything has quantity 2 pieces which are prawn tempura, nagasaki chicken, karagi chicken, vegetable sushi, katsu chicken at last fruits and maki. All these costed 780 taka which is 7.10 in dollar. Nowadays people of Bangladesh prefer to eat foreign foods more than bengali foods. That’s why recently we have many restaurants from foreign. I don’t eat fancy foods everyday and it’s expensive, obviously it is delicious I loved every item expect sushi and maki because it does not suit my taste bud and I can’t order this platter without the sushi so, I also had to have it. Maybe they could not cook it properly as it’s originally done. Anyways, I loved this platter and I might eat this twice in a month. The amount of food is fine I guess but still it’s too much for me I can’t eat all of these once by my own and I will need someone to company.
