Hello Hive Learners, happy Tuesday for all of you...
Edited from Logo Maker app
This week we will start a new week again, which is week 17, after going through week 6 which is very exciting, we will certainly enter week 17 which is no less exciting than the previous weeks. and of course a new program from Hive Learners, namely Sunday Creative which is impromptu every Sunday.
In the first edition of the contest in the 17th week, we are required to discuss about Scammers, of course we are all familiar with this crime, and so am I. Therefore, in this post I will try to share a little experience about scammers that I have experienced.
Fraud is a crime that is on the rise today, there are many victims of this crime and it is very dangerous. Fraudulent activities usually occur and attack through social media networks, it can also be through telecommunication devices which from this they can easily launch their actions, of course those who commit these crimes are very familiar with the workings of communication technology that is widely used by people. people today and it is a loophole for criminals. The number of social media is also one of the gaps that they can take advantage of, its characteristics are an advertisement that is inviting and tries as hard as possible to get our data for their benefit, the goal is that we can transfer some money to them either directly through an ATM or through the link they provide and will later be connected to our banking account if we access it, this kind of act is almost the same as hacking but their goal is to get money directly quickly and easily from their victims.
I've been through this kind of thing too and I can say I've had it a lot. Usually I get attacked through messages and sometimes they call me directly. At first I almost got scammed by them and in the end with all my checking I was free from their scam. What they do when they cheat is try to convince their victims that they themselves are from a trustworthy agency such as from a bank employee, television show, etc. I have even been intimidated by the way they convinced me that they were the hospital. who took care of my father who had just been taken to their hospital due to an accident, and they asked for some money so they could carry out an operation on my father who needed immediate treatment. Of course, even if we are frightened like that, we should not be careless and immediately believe, we must first check who is calling and try to find evidence first. From that incident I began to learn how they work and try not to fall into their traps.
After that incident I immediately marked every new number that came into my cellphone and if they looked suspicious, I would give them a certain code so that I wouldn't be trapped by them and if they called for the umpteenth time I could report them to the police. I also carefully store important numbers such as the number of the Police, Hospital, Fire, and others so that later if they are on behalf of one of the Police, Hospital, or Firefighters I can check it directly and ask for clarity and check it. If it turns out that I was tricked, at least I didn't succeed in being exploited by asking me to send some money which would be detrimental to me. I'm also very careful with apps that try to ask for a certain amount of money and require me to send it to an account especially in large amounts. The point is, I'm always wary and wary of these kinds of things, and I'll investigate them first before I fall into their trap.
And now, luckily I've never experienced another crime like fraud or anything like that, I'm more careful and selective about this. The point is that this fraud suggests that we send some money to him, they will definitely ask for it immediately and that is one sign. If you are scared and threatened, it's a good idea to check with related parties such as the police, hospital, or the like if they are from one of them. And the most important thing is to avoid panic because it will launch their action, they do try to make their victims panic so that they can easily deceive them, because in a state of panic, we cannot think clearly. If you find a fraudster like this, it's better for you to report it to the police so that crimes like this don't take more victims.
Those are some of my explanations and experiences about scams that are rife on social media, especially through text messages and telephones. My advice is that we must be more careful and selective in responding to them, look for credibility from their statements and if they ask for some money, then they can be sure they are scammers, because if it comes from a government agency such as the Police or the Hospital, they will definitely give their address to them. us, instead of asking for money first when the situation is urgent. Finding out directly can also be a good thing to do because we will be more confident and get accurate evidence. and most importantly do not panic in the face of it.
