most of my time was spent in the class listening to lecturers wax lyrical about particular reaction pathways with no practical proof.

Just imagine! Part of the reason they keep avoiding practical teaching is prolly because of poor infrastructures and lack of resources. Another issue that needs redress.

The gap between what we were supposed to and what we were taught in school is way too alarming.
