Have you experienced different trials and temptation in life? How did you deal with it?
Trials is a test of faith, trust and belief on God while temptations is something that causes a strong desire to have or do something and it is usually done in a bad or wrong way.
Do you have your own definition about these words? You can share it below and I would love to read it.
Many people are discussing and arguing where the trials and temptations came from? Is it from God or Satan? Some said trials came from God while temptations came from Satan. Though we have different perspective on this topic please allow me to share mine on how I understand it.
Both trials and temptation came from Satan, but it happened because God allows it. Can you remember the story of Job in the Bible? God allows Satan to give trials to Job. Satan is allowed to do everything to test Job's faith in God but he should not take his life. Satan killed his children from time to another, took his animals and lastly give him sickness, a sore boils from his foot to his head. These things happened to him so fast but he didn't blame God even in a single word. His wife told him to curse his God and die. What a great disappointment he might felt. His wife should be the first person to comfort him, to uplift him, to strengthen him, to remind him that there is God who is not blind and deaf to see and hear his situation but instead his wife is the person who tempted him to curse and leave his God.
Job passed the test. He passed the trials given by Satan. His faith strenghten more and he still praise God despite of the pain and sufferings he have. Because he passed and proved that he has a powerful and merciful God, Satan losses the battle. God blessed Job and he had more than what he had before. God gave him another children, lots of animals and long life that he even saw his grandchildren.
Job's story can be found in the book of Job in the Bible. This is the greatest story that teaches us different lessons. A lesson on how to trust our God fully. Job also teaches us that everything we have is not ours, it is of God. He even said that we came out in this world with nothing and we will go back to the earth with nothing. We will thank and praise God not only in the prosperous life but even when we are so down.
Job had the greatest trial in the history I think but he overcame it and not tempted to do anything against his God.
When trials crossed our path, a lot of temptation will follow.
You and I also have different trials in life. Might be a trial in financial aspects came almost everytime and we are tempted to do wrong to have a quick money. Might be a trial of problems that you think you cannot bear at all and you will be tempted to commit suicide. Might be missing your wife and you are tempted to find a young, beautiful and sexy lady. Might be you need some money and you are tempted to go to an old man looking for a young lady like you.
Whatever your trials, whatever your temptations may we always hold on to our faith, lean on God and never ever give Satan a chance to fill our hearts and minds. May we win the battle against Satan and we cannot do it alone but with God.
Always remember that God allows Satan to test your faith because God knows that you can handle it. God knows you can fight against it. God knows you will survive. God knows you will win. Keep your faith high.
