Christmas is not just a day of merriment and fun, it holds more meaning that is deeper than we think. It is the day even though we don't know the exact day, Jesus our savior was born, yet, 25 December, was set aside to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Let's celebrate with love, merriment because He is the reason, Christmas is all over the world.
We can't celebrate Christmas without food. So, food is what I like in Christmas.
Let's go deed, to know what Christmas is all about. Without Christmas there would be no special dishes, as well.
One significant thing, I discovered in this season is that; Jesus Christ came to bring “Christian family bond” so, Jesus is the symbol of love, unity, freedom, oneness, happiness and authentic relationship with God first and man.
Therefore, Christmas is a season of love, unity, freedom, oneness, happiness, care, joy.
In this season, as God shown us love, so we should also show love to others to our enemies as well.
This season holds a special treat on it own. In the month of November after we finished writing examination, heading back home I perceived a strong fragrance of Christmas blowing through my nose and the change of environment to Christmas environment.
Presently, my excitement for this season is undescribable. Showing grateful to God for keeping us from January to December.
Gratitude should be the feeling we should have when Christmas season is on it way. This is a season of connection to the old people and new people. A season of revival, a season of restoration, a season of new ideas, a season of emancipation, a season of expansion, a season of uplift, a season of favor, a season of blessings, a season of boundless fruitfulness, a season of igniting the fire of God in our lives.
A season of gathering as one family to eat a special, sumptuous meal of our choice. I could recall my mother cooking, pepper soup rice with goat meat, fried rice and salad, white soup, Afang soup, I believe she will do it this year again. I ate to my satisfaction and at the same time could not walk again, I had to run around to relieve the heaviness of my body.
Already I have laughed my special dishes. I started this journey yesterday. It will continue that till next year.
Season of meeting with our loved ones, joining heirs as God's children (family).
I lost my grandma who always gather her grandchildren every 25 December to celebrate Christmas with us by cooking different types of meals and drinks. She is no more. Who can it this year for us, I am keeping my ears wide to receive a call from my uncle or my aunt. God is there.
Festive activities will be carried out in the public. There is a life band at Christmas village here in my hometown. Likewise, many festive activities perform in grand style just to show joy in this season.
Moreover, Christmas is a profound season, and we should be thankful to the Holy Spirit who pregnanted Mary the virgin mother of Jesus Christ whom we are celebrating this season.
Christmas is a unity, love, joy and relationship, God has brought to us.
One special thing I love about Christmas is special dishes.
