Oh... those Daisy's
We always say... "No more flowers!". Not that we don't love them, obviously! But with each year, my better half and I, just don't have it in us to get outside, do all the things that one needs to do, to keep these beautiful creations alive. But... (there is always a but!) we end up getting more! As most of you that know me, know... this has always been a way to get outside... bask in the sunlight, and take our minds off the current problems we are dealing with. These two beauties are actually orange and yellow. But I think this sepia tone looks quite "Victorian"? What do you think? This might just be another challenge, initiative, or reason to post (sepiasaturday that is) but if you think about my Thoughtful Daily Post mindset, and how the world does seem to be in a sepia'ish atmosphere, we can take this opportunity to turn that frown, upside down... right? By the way... here is the original photo before applying the sepia filter:
Double that Daffodil!
We got these gorgeous Double Dafoddil's, like all of our flowers, from the Amish Market, down the road from us. Sure... they probably get their stock from the same company as everyone, but they take such good care of the flowers they have! If they do have stock left over, they place them all in the field next to their shop, and till them back into the ground... nothing gets wasted. I think this same mindset could be incorporated into our own daily lives... in my 51-year-old opinion, it has become a "throw-away" society. We get things... they get old or stop working, and we toss said "things" to the side, and start looking for a replacement. Now... I am not saying you, my dear readers, are in this frame of mind. But wouldn't you agree that this seems to be the way things go? Maybe if we put this same idea in line with our everyday way of being... that of striving to work on things, rather than replacing them for the "next best thing"... we would see what might have been broken, was only needing love, and a little "elbow grease".
Funny I should bring this mindset up... these flowers were not wanting to bloom when we first got them. My better half and I figured it was "just us", and the flowers must have been on their last days in regards to the growth cycle. We got some cow manure from that Amish Market I was talking about, and tilled it in with the dirt these flowers were planted in. Low and behold, they snapped out of their "non-growing" cycle, and as you can see, ended up being quite pretty. The Daffodils in this photo are actually yellow/beige in color... just so you know. Here... let me show you the original photo:
As is my usual way, I'd like to share another post that features the #alwaysaflower TAG... this is from the HIVE'ian

We couldn't just end it there, without sharing a post from the #sepiasaturday creator now, could we!! I invite you to take a peek at both of these posts... maybe leave a comment? Upvote? Re-blog if you wanna? Ok, Wes... share the post already!!

Don't forget to get your Easter grove on!
I do know that tomorrow is April 17th and Easter for everyone that partakes in the holidays. With all of the world's issues (I don't need to remind you all), I hope you all are able to get together with your family and loved ones. Celebrate this holiday in whatever way you choose. Just remember to enjoy yourselves, and don't hide real eggs in the house... ๐ Oh, yes! One more photograph... #sepiasaturday style!!
Bunny Buddies!!
When my better half and I were trying to process the details of our, then, current situation... losing our jobs, being contaminated with TCE (Trichloroethylene)... we tried to get our minds off these things. This was before the flower planting, so we would go to a local Animal Shelter/Thrift Store, and we just happened to pick up these cute bunny figurines! (Yes... I used the word cute lol). All the proceeds went towards helping not only animals at the shelter but also the Food Banks and local chapters for the homeless. So, we felt good doing that... and it took our minds off the impending doom! Isn't that what we should be doing anyway? Helping others if we are in a position to do so? That's how I was raised anyway. Here's a photo before the sepia filter was added...
It has been some time since I created a post... with trying to keep up with my #thoughtfuldailypost Community and Curation Account... combined with my helping new folks at The Terminal, let alone my daily struggle with my Multiple Sclerosis. I don't have a lot of free time. But I do hope everyone is doing the best they can, and truly appreciate all of you that are posting in my community, and using my TAG. So here's to the #alwaysaflower as well as #sepiasaturday initiatives... communities, challenges... and awesomesauce'ness!!
