A surf beach at my doorstep can never be taken for granted I tell myself. Go on, put on your shoes and step through the garden gate.
Keep walking, never stop I whisper to my inner self.
Stroll, walk, run forever breathe in the salt air and admire the magnificent ocean views, it is an ever-changing entertaining show.
And so with huge delight, I found myself walking a most rugged wild surf beach yesterday at my favourite time, the end of the day, which just happened to be the very special #Wednesdaywalk created and beautifully managed by the ever Mr Nice Guy

This beach today was a photographer's dream, was it by chance I wondered? I hoped I could do justice with my photos, skilfully capture the scenes I was looking at..
I saw multi coloured patchwork clouds filling the sky and very rough surf with big choppy waves sending in fast rushing water up the beach. The energy was superb.
Nature is my muse softly urging me with its colours, stillness and force, one moment light here, light there, the next moment a few steps on only darkness and brightness. So many photos to capture, I cannot stop, I am completely bewitched.
All depending on where I look, so many impressive twists and turns in the slide show. The light simmering on the crest of the wave catches my eye.
Suddenly the golden gleam shines through that was a white light only a nanosecond before.
Prolonging my pleasure I stole a sneak backward glance to see a total transformation created by a ray of the setting sun. I am lost for words, how can this be?
Reluctantly I turn towards the sand path with a giggle as I slosh home with my very wet sandy shoes. Yes, a fast flowing rogue wave caught me unawares and no way did I have time to scramble up the sand dune.
In my haste to get away a small piece of a grass runner got caught in my shoe. I dragged coastal grass of the sand dune? Oh no! Definitely time for new walking shoes?
There is a very proactive environmental group within the local council that spend a lot of time planting and nurturing the growing of grass on the sand dunes. Of course due to concerns with erosion this is a continuing project carried out on lots of beaches in Australia and elsewhere in the world.
To be more precise I looked the grass up for further information and this is what I found:-
A Stoloniferous grass that has long runners, some up to several metres long that colonize the forefront of coastal sand dunes. Spinifex is an important species in coastal re-vegetation as it binds and stabilises the sand dunes. Coastal grass
I am sure nature is my inspiration, my muse because while writing this post words and sentences flowed from my mind through my fingers, onto the keyboard and in my post.
I am an amateur photographer and proud to say the photos are all mine.*
