About two weeks ago we went for a walk in Wilson's Wharf.
Wilson's Wharf is a hive of activity, situated inside Durban Harbor. There are numerous curio shops aimed at international tourists, South African holidaymakers as well as locals.
Besides the curio shops, there are some nice restaurants as well.
Wilson's Wharf is where all the private boat owners keep their boats. You will find anything from ski-boats to fishing boats, sailboats to luxury yachts being docked here.
Some of the owners operate their boats as a business and there are many pleasure cruises that can be booked in and around the harbor.
During our walk, a marine research boat, the "Phakisa" caught my attention and I shared some photos of it in this post.
Today I would like to share some photos of the other boats in Wilson's Wharf. Today my focus is on the boats that are "mechanically driven".
Let's start with the smaller boat first. "Sweet Caroline" was docked right next to a nice restaurant where we love spending some time.
A little further down was "Trinity", which you can see in the next two photos.
Then, of course, there was "Quite Enough" that just couldn't be missed...lol.
Notice the little mini motorboat on the top deck in the next photo...
The restaurant I mentioned earlier can be seen in the next photo. We would normally have something to eat, and then move out to the balcony outside to watch the activity of boats casually going out and coming back in...
If you click on the photo and enlarge it, you should be able to see a board with "Boat Rides" written in red, to the left of the restaurant, sticking out just behind it.
That was where we got on board for our pleasure cruise some years ago.
Talking about the pleasure cruise... In another post of mine about A Visit to the Entrance of Durban Harbor, I promised to dig around and see if I can find the photos of when my wife and I went on the pleasure cruise.
I did dig around and found our memories of that day. Everything was on short video clips though, but I'll see if I can do something with it to get some photos from those video clips. If I can get something done with it, I'll share it tomorrow.
Back to the present...during this walk, I walked to the other side of Wilson's Wharf, where I saw a boat exactly like the one that we went on for our cruise.
You can see it in the next photo.
But for today, that's it, folks.
Thank you for reading my post. I do appreciate it!
