Welcome to my #WednesdayWalk. The #WednesdayWalk is hosted as always by . Here's a nice Vermont picture for a good thumbnail.
My walk started down the drive way to the road.
The roads were clear but we knew more snow was coming.
We stopped at a pond near our house. The pond is on the Leicester River behind a small hydroelectric dam.
Here's the stream coming out of the back of the dam. There is a path along the stream below the dam that goes by several former mill sites. I will have to hike that and take pictures next summer. The trail isn't maintained well enough to hike in the snow.
Back to the walk. There are lots of stone walls around rural Vermont. Farmers cleared fields and built walls along the property lines and edges of fields.
These pine trees are still holding on to some snow.
We are on the way to the lake.
We try to make it down to the lake each day. Partly for exercise and partly for the view.
The lake is starting to ice over and the snow is building up.
There is a road around the lake with some old farmhouses plus some newer lake homes. The barn at the start of my post is next to this house.
The Green Mountains are on the other side of the lake.
You can see the snow on the mountain sides.
It started snowing on the way home ❄️
The snow was sticking on the roads before we made it back. We were bundled up and warm so it was a fun walk in the snow. Happy #WednesdayWalk! Thanks for joining me on my walk.
