But things didn't go well. Instead of us serving foods during the opening day, there we were, sitting on its very cutesy table waiting for our orders to eat dinner at Dayon. This is our "the one that got away" workplace and what we expected of being a crew turned into us being customers. Ridiculous, as what my boyfriend says, and I find it a plot twist. But fortunately, it was a redirection. Now I am hired as a product consultant at Bantayan Island, the travel island I featured for weeks a month ago, and my boyfriend as a Virtual Assistant. It was a great redirection. And because we got hired, we celebrated it at Dayon, where we could have spent our day serving foods to customers.
We heard that Dayon, at its opening, offers affordable cuisines and dishes so we grabbed the chance, except bringing a bowl of rice to pair with the viands we ordered. Also, the aesthetic of this restaurant grabbed our attention as well as the coziness. There was also a live singer on their first night that entertained the customers the whole night as they feasted on their favorable viands.
We ordered buttered shrimp and a bowl of chicken wings, two little casseroles of rice, and water. It was just a simple celebration for our new work as newly hired employee and freelancer. The foods? They were so great it filled my tummy not just with solid foods but also tasty shrimp soup and chicken wings that were so juicy. I enjoyed it while watching the live singer sing for us, and my boyfriend initiated conversations that made the gustatory experience happy and memorable.
Maybe we were not meant to work at Dayon after all, but instead, we were meant to sit there as customers celebrating the new opportunities that came our way. Truly, some plot twists become beautiful redirections in life.
