"Santiago de las Vegas on wheels".

Hello beautiful people of Wednesdays. 😘

I'm returning home after a lunch given by my father-in-law in his house, at sunset in my small hometown Santiago de las Vegas. It's just a few short blocks, with potholes in the streets, but on them roll transports of different times and uses.

Hola gente linda de los miércoles. 😘

Regreso a casa luego de un almuerzo que diera mi suegro en su morada, al atardecer de mi pequeño pueblo natal Santiago de las Vegas. Son apenas unas cortas cuadras, con baches en las calles, pero sobre ellas ruedan transportes de diferentes épocas y usos.

Classic cars that people have kept from generation to generation and some have undergone major transformations in order to survive to this day, either in the engine or in some other important element for their operation.

Autos clásicos que conservan las personas de generación en generación y algunos han sufrido transformaciones trascendentales para poder subsistir hasta la fecha, ya sea en el motor o en algún otro elemento importante para su funcionamiento.

Others, less traditional and less comfortable, but older, still manage to hold their own with great effort and readjustments to their designs.

Otros menos tradicionales y menos cómodos, pero de edad avanzada igual logran mantenerse con grandes esfuerzos y reajustes en sus diseños.

Slightly more modern cars have been obtained by some people with a little more economy than the average population and great efforts for their maintenance.

Autos un poco más modernos han podido obtener algunas personas con algo más de economía que la media de la población y grandes esfuerzos para su mantenimiento.

Fuel-efficient motorbikes are another means of transport that is also abundant in the private and state sectors.

Las motos de consumo combustible son otro medio de transporte que abunda también en el sector privado y en el estatal.

Electric scooters, electric bicycles and electric bicycles provide short-distance transport and are used by small traders who sell their products on them.

The public transport of the population is also covered by private sector cars that are used for this activity. These are old cars that have also been converted in order to survive to the present day.

La transportación pública de la población también se cubre con autos del sector privado que ponen al servicio de esta actividad. Son carros antiguos igualmente transformados para poder subsistir hasta el día de hoy.

There are also the state transports (guaguas) that serve a large part of the population and are almost always overcrowded with many people standing.

También están los transportes estatales (guaguas) que dan servicios a gran parte de la población y casi siempre están súper llenas con muchas personas de pie.

Closing this block of transport (and I clarify that it doesn't have "wheels") I find myself next to two men pulling a horse before turning into my block. The "individual" was walking on the pavement like any other passer-by. Surely they had taken away his spider cart which some people use properly and others mistreat animals mercilessly.

Cerrando este bloque de transporte (y aclaro que no tiene "ruedas") me encuentro junto antes de doblar por mi cuadra a dos señores que tiraban de un caballo. El "individuo" iba por la acera como cualquier transeúnte. De seguro le habían quitado su carrito araña que algunas personas usan adecuadamente y otras maltratan a los animales despiadadamente.

Small town full of people who have always lived here, where their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other descendants were born. Inhabitants and visitors to this town have the opportunity to move around in transport, which, although not their own, is useful in situations of need, depending on the level of personal acquisition. These are not all of them, there are more of course. I just wanted to show you something that caught my attention on this walk, because there was not a single street without movement on wheels, which is not common in a town like this.

Pueblo pequeño lleno de personas que han vivido desde siempre aquí, donde han nacido sus hijos, nietos, bisnietos y demás descendientes. Cohabitantes y visitantes en esta ciudad tenemos la oportunidad de movimiento en transporte, que aunque no sea propio, nos sirve en situaciones de necesidad, según los niveles de adquisición personal. Estos no son todos, existen más por supuesto. Sólo les quise mostrar algo que me llamó la atención en este paseo, pues no había una sola calle sin movimiento sobre ruedas, lo cual no es común en un pueblo como éste.
