"i'm racing on foot,
but i'll never make it home."
We've all been there, especially now, given the current circumstances. Sometimes you just have that irrational feeling of loneliness, and your productivity is affected on a whole different level. This bug got to me, and I am so glad I have really supportive friends and colleagues who manage to make me feel better despite lack of productivity at work.
That's my prompt this time. Blue. Or the feeling of being blue.
She's feeling blue.
She's blue.
And I really, really, really wanted to paint her blue, too. With these really big droplets of tears to add to the effect. But I wanted something different.
So I tried coloring her with hue stuck a red, adjusting only the value and saturation depending on what I needed to color. And I wanted her to smile. At least, as far as smiling while lonely can go.
The prompt came after listening to Keshi's (again!) song, blue. I'm in love with it! You can listen to it below.
P.S. the spotify embed might not work on hive.blog. view this post in peakd for the embed to work.
Drawing the girl that's blue.
I intended to record the whole process -- in fact, I did! The start, at least. But halfway through, I was growing extra weary of where the digital work was going. While I have always fancied trying this kind of coloring (only one hue), I couldn't help but feel awkward about it.
So I didn't record to create a timelapse... only, it turned out a little better than I imagined. (insert face palm here)
I loved how the hair turned out this time. I only colored the depth where I believed the strands should go, and added more shadows to, well, where the dark should go. Hehe.
