First victory in the Lichess Liga Team Battle - next tournament tomorrow!

Dear chessfans!

Last Sunday our Hive-fueled Blockchain chess team for the first time competed in a team battle, the big "Lichess Liga Team Battle" - and we totally rocked it!

What´s is the Lichess Liga?
In this event it is not about playing against each other but our team matches against other teams around the globe! Read more about the event in the official announcement post.

We have started in Liga 12B, with 54 players present from 10 teams, and after spending most of the time at rank 2 behind the "Chess Skills Academy" (Академия шахматного мастерства), we ended up as clear winner!

Our strength was not the presence of a few titled players, but the number of scoring players, so it was clearly the team effort who made the difference!

I had quite a good run at the end, so I could collect the most points from our team.

The next event starts already tomorrow, Thursday, 18^th May, 18h GMT.

There is no registration for you needed. We will be in liga 11B (ranked up from last time). The more from our team participate, the higher our chances will be to get a good result and improve in the rankings. E.g. if we end up in the top 3, we will be in liga 10 next time! If we make it to rank 8 only, we will be back to liga 12.

How far can we get?

The rules:

• Everybody in our Lichess team can join using the link to the tournament (pick our team if asked 😃, in case you are part of multiple teams)
• A win collects 2 points for our team, a draw 1
• Only the results of the 6 best contributors of each team are counted in this liga (but all skill levels are important, because each win means potentially less points for the other teams!)
• Every Thursday and Sunday are tournaments
• The links to the upcoming tournaments are - dependent on our result - already provided in the description of the tournament itself and also on our team page.

Mode: 3+2 (3 minutes per game, 2 sec. increment per move), 100 min. rated arena, win streaks & berserk allowed
