Hivechess Tournament Season 14 Round 2: @maestroask was the winner in a soccer-depleted field

Dear chess fans,

yesterday the second round of S14 was a 5+0 Swiss tournament. Only 14 players had participated, many strong players were missing - maybe due to the soccer world cup quarter final Argentina-Netherlands! Actually 16, but 2 have not registered by sending one Hive to Hive account@badge-646464.

I found this slogan by Lichess quite philosophical:

Not surprisingly, Hive account@maestroask won effortlessly with 7 out of 7 points. More of a surprise was that I could end up as second, barely ahead of Hive account@wildthougts with both 5 out of 7. Fourth was Hive account@rosmarly (as the 2 players in front of her were not registered), leading a pack of 3 more players with 4 points: Hive account@sammy00, Hive account@stranger27 and Hive account@maciejficek. Congratulations to All!

It seems that chessboxing gets increasingly popular. Have you been aware that recently the 4^th chessboxing world championship was carried out (the first after Corona)? Me neither.

There will be also a chess boxing event today, 11^th Dec. featuring IM Lawrence Trent. Some of you may know him from chess commentary. He is has been training boxing since weeks to survive this fight.
