True... I've talked with some Japanese otaku friends and one of them told me that one of the reasons might be the lack of seiyuu. Most seiyuu from Haikyuu! are also doing other big projects, for instance Kuroo's seiyuu is Gojo-sensei's seiyuu. So doing two anime series would make the schedule more hectic compared to a series + a movie. Welp, we don't know exactly... but whatever it is, we're happy that they at least continued with the animation. :)
