Collective Calm of Flora and Fauna | nftshowroom X alienarthive challenge for APRIL: Theme: "Flora and Fauna" - No. 6

How lovely it is to bask in the surroundings of nature. As I stated in my series "Grappling With Nature", doing so brings humans numerous benefits to their physical health and well being.

First, research has for years strongly suggested that exposure to nature can lower stress, improve memory, boost your immune system and lessen depression, among other benefits. And numerous ways exist to enjoy and appreciate flora and fauna.¹.

Research advises that participating in these activities below will bring one closer to nature.

• Using Your Senses of sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch can be used not only to sense the world around you but to appreciate nature. I love to listen to the rain and smell its metallic, woodsy aroma. Really feel and see the effects of the wind;

• Mindful appreciation. The old saying that one should stop and smell the roses isn't just words to fill our thoughts. Pause and view the world around you. Your perspective will change with fresh eyes; and

• Connect with nature in any way that feels comfortable to you. Learning about nature is easy in today's information highway. Take advantage of it and research or stream document series.

However, to appreciate anything in life, one must understand that which is unfamiliar or unknown. We must realize that humans aren't separate from nature, but an integral part.

In order to embrace the calm of flora and fauna, we must become a willing participant to help and not harm that which is given freely to the world.

Below are my steps taken to create my sixth and final design for this theme.

I hope you like the short animation I attempted on this design aiming to capture the human interacting with the flora and fauna. The animation was created utilizing the video tool in Canva.

My Creation Process:

My inspiration in creating this "flora and fauna" scene was a free-sourced image I discovered of a young adult. I thought to pair it with a field of flowers and animals. Uploading all images into my design program Canva, I added layers of elements to complement the images. I especially love the duplication result in fusing the two images with the lovely evening skyline.
