Flora and Fauna. When calling upon the famous artist Hieronymus Bosch for his expert interpretation of the flora and fauna kingdoms, you'll discover the most unusual hybrid animals, humans, and floral designs. Last year, I came to fully appreciate his style of painting during my investigation into his works and life.
As you may recall in my post, Bosch was born Jheronimus van Aken. He adopted the name "Bosch" in recognition of his hometown. His fame rose from his style of hybrid depictions.
According to art scholars, the art of the older masters of art was viewed as based in the physical world of everyday experience. However, these scholars believed Bosch addressed those experiences with an alternative view of life. Art historian, Walter Gibson, assessed Bosch's view as based on "a world of dreams and nightmares in which forms seem to flicker and change before our eyes". Formless shapes where gender is obscured and animals appear to possess two or three-dimensional forms are prevalent. 1
In my view, many of the human subjects in his art are naked with elongated bodies or limbs. Their facial features are distorted as if terrorized.
In the post, [nftshowroom X alienarthive challenge for April: nftshowroom X alienarthive challenge for April: Flora & Fauna, NFTShowroom has featured all the month's flora and fauna themed Art minted so far on the NFT Showroom's home page / twitter. Also, Alien Art Hive will be curating participants' blog posts. This challenge was intended for the full month of April. Participants are required to:
- make art incorporating any flora and fauna theme;
- mint it on https://nftshowroom.com/;
- make a blog post about it in Alien Art Hive; and
- use #nftshowroom in your tags
Below are my steps I took to create my first design for this theme.
Hope you enjoy my still version and animated variations.

I decided to tokenize the second animated version.

My Creation Process:
For creation of the "flora and fauna" scene in this design, I wanted to again explore how the stable diffusion program, StarryAI, would handle the two elements along the style of Bosch.
I was excited to see yet again the depth in the hybrid animals. One animal with elongated legs that appear to be a mix of two different animals is standing on a tree branch and gazing off into the distance as through searching for or expecting something to occur. The bird I placed in the tree is a hybrid with three beaks.
I borrowed two of my previous StarryAI creations of human Bosch figures.
Style:
RealVisXL
Text Description:
"Strange animal and human creatures in the realm of Bosch."
I also included a pure fractal I created in the advanced fractal rendering program, Apophysis 7X. Uploading all images into Canva, my design program, I added layers of elements.
Thanks for taking the time to view my post. I hope you like my final mixed media project for the April Flora and Fauna challenge.
Good luck everyone with whatever your endeavors.
