The fine sand cut my face as the wind blew and the scorching sun burnt through my keffiyeh. They used to say Sudan would be the food basket of Africa but rampant corruption had killed that dream.
I looked into my warehouse. Nothing. Stolen!!
This is my entry for the #ZapFicMonday contest to write a story in 240 characters or less on the prompt "agriculture"
A big thanks to
and
for running this contest.
My story today is inspired from when I was living and working in Sudan. So much potential but there were many obstacles to achieving the goals.
I enjoy writing as it helps me to appreciate the differences and beauty of life. #AliveAndThriving
The photo is my own (taken in Sudan)
