A little piece.
Lot of churches and denominations have different doctrines, believe and method of worship.
The truth is:
Each denomination believe they are better than the other one, they believe they are the ones practising and worshipping God the right way
They might not openly admit it but its what we all know to be true including you and I.
Catholics will look at Protestants and feel like they worship the wrong way. They are practicing Christianity wrong! They don't do confessions and they don't pray to the saints. Hmmh. Hail Mary have mercy upon them.
Same goes for the Protestants which will also look at the Catholics and say to themselves, look at these idol worshippers. Worshipping Mary instead of the Lord. Praying to saints instead of Christ. May the Lord have mercy on your sinful souls.
Even though the Protestants are united by their mutual disdain for Catholics, they are also divided by their individual doctrines which each denomination possess.
Example is belief in the Trinity.
Trinitarians look at non-trinitarians and feel, look at these people who refuse to belief in the Holy Trinity. Refusing to believe that God is three in one. May God the Father have mercy on them through Jesus the son through the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Same goes for non-trinitarians, they'll be like look at this confused people, believing that God is three in one. So now God will have one body and three heads. No be JUJU be that? Lol. May the good Lord open the eyes of their understanding!
Meanwhile Seventh Day Adventists (sabbath day believers) will sit at home and say to themselves, look at these unbelievers going to church on Sunday instead of Saturday. Being stiff-necked and refusing to keep the Lord's Sabbath. I PRAY MAKE BABA OPEN THEIR EYES.
Abi no be so?
And because today is Sunday, if two women are angry at each other, they will not want to quarrel openly. Instead they will use the Scriptures. Something like this:
First Woman: Mama Chinedu, Deuteronomy 28 v 19 - "Cursed shalt thou be in thy going in and thy going out!"
Second Woman: Mama Femi, Deuteronomy 28 v 28 - " the Lord shall smite thee with madness!"
Most people worship the way way they were taught when they were little, the ways of their parents.
If you are born in a Catholic family, the you worship and believe in the ways of catholic. Same goes for protestants.
My take on all of this is:
- Do good
*Always pray in any form you feel connected to God.
*Don't follow pastor but what is written in the scripture
*Which ever way you serve God, do it with all your heart without destroying the good people around you.
God bless.
