El acoso creo que no prosperaba porque simplemente yo no lo escuchaba, no me importaba y no me afectaba. Sin embargo entendía perfectamente que mi ropa no era comprada en tiendas la elaboraba mi madre que aunque no era costurera simplemente aprendió para suplir una necesidad en el hogar. Y con ello podía tener los vestidos que pudiera necesitar aunque sabía que no eran de marca.

I don't remember much about bullying during my school years, but it was somewhat related to those who had more money and those who had less. Honestly, I never felt bad about those differences. I knew perfectly well that I was poor, but that education could lift me out of that situation.
The truth is, most of my classmates were children of immigrants born in Venezuela, so we were a mix of races. We had to learn about two different cultures: the one we lived in and the one our parents came from. We heard stories from both sides.
I think the bullying didn't take hold because I simply didn't listen to it, I didn't care, and it didn't affect me.
