Hello Wine Nerds! Not so much action going on in the wine tag lately. I started this account separate from my other account because I fell like wine deservers it's own community, and having it separate from my other account where I focus on cannabis, and a little on my life, but really cannabis is a big part of my life anyways. Wine is something that is a guilty pleasure for myself, and also something I enjoy collecting, like baseball cards in a way. Except baseball cards that you can drink. Hopefully one day we can have a thriving wine community, as much as cannabis. I mean it makes since right? I would also love to see people who buy wine as an investment. It is crazy seeing the value of these rare wines from around the world go up higher, and higher each year. Something I know a lot of you Crypto people can appreciate.
Today I have no expensive bottle. In fact this wine was a bargain! At 12$ I was completely amazed at the quality of the wine. Of course many local small scale producers usually are, except hard to find unless you travel off the beaten path, and visit the winery directly. Which is why I was very surprised to find this Rhone Style Blend at my local Bevmo. 39% Mourvèdre, 33% Grenache, 26% Syrah, 2% Cinsaut from the vintage 2012, that could go even longer. It is hard to find such a bargain wine with the ability to age. What made this find even more exciting, was the fact that this was the only bottle among many 2019's! Why did I go for the 2012? Well this winery is from the Santa Cruz Mountains, and over there they take their wine seriously, just as much as they do in France, or Italy. So give California another point for when it comes to the Chateauneuf du Pape style wines, CHEERS!
