Hello Hive Family, most especially to my fellow co-Filipino Hive blog writers in the BayaniHive Community, I hope this post finds you well and inspired today!
Earlier today, I received a thoughtful gift from my neighbor: a handful of fresh Baguio beans. It’s amazing how something so simple can spark creativity in the kitchen. I decided to cook the beans together with cabbage and pork, turning them into a hearty viand for lunch.
The aroma filled the house, and the dish turned out to be both comforting and satisfying. But the best part wasn’t just enjoying the meal myself. I made sure to share a bowl back with the neighbor who had given me the beans. It felt good to return the kindness, and it reminded me how food can be more than nourishment; it can be a bridge that strengthens community ties.
In moments like these, I realize that cooking isn’t just about feeding ourselves. It’s about gratitude, connection, and the joy of sharing. That simple exchange of beans and a bowl of viand carried with it the warmth of bayanihan, the Filipino spirit of helping and caring for one another.
Thank you, dear readers, for taking the time to join me in this little story of food and friendship. May we all continue to celebrate the small acts of kindness that make our communities stronger.
Until next time, Hive Family, let’s keep cooking, sharing, and writing together!
