Farmhouses have dominated the plains of Vojvodina since ancient times. Farmsteads are field estates that dominate the house and various other buildings that surround it. The word "Salaš" itself comes from the Hungarian word (szallas), and its meaning is accommodation, or farmhouse.
The farms were originally the habitat of peasants, who cultivated their land. Some lived there on estates outside the village, and some wealthier people in the village or town came to cultivate their land.
The houses on the farms were built of natural materials that the villagers would find on the spot, they were built with a special technique, which we do not have the opportunity to see in our day.
And that special technique was that they piled the earth into walls that were wide and provided good insulation, the roofs were covered with reeds.
There were more types of farms: more primitive dugouts, semi-dugouts or even buildings with a more complex construction look.
With the development of technology, the farmers themselves became more and more mobile, with the appearance of the tractor, as it came into use, all that accelerated the process of farm decay.
Today, the farms are a reminder of old times. But the few that have remained in memory of some places are being converted into modern restaurants, with traditional food or into places to rest.
Yesterday I had dinner with my family in a decorated farmhouse which is now a restaurant and which recently opened. Reconstructions of the yard are still in progress, which will probably be completed during the spring.
The title mentions Banat Paradise, the restaurant got its name that way, together we can see what good it offers from the food and what the place looks like.
The restaurant is located near Bela Crkva, in the village (Crvena Crkva, or translated, Red Church), the very entrance I had the idea of entering the yard of a country house located right next to the road, the space around the restaurant is large.
The restaurant is reached by stairs, the restaurant is on a high hill so that from that height you can see the surroundings.
The courtyard of the restaurant is still under construction, but in front of the restaurant are planted winter roses, a beautifully landscaped path sprinkled with gravel.
At the very entrance, there are various clay figures such as a swan, a pigeon or a dwarf, and there is also a terrace, but in the evening it was a little cold, so we decided to go inside.

We arrived a little earlier, so there weren't many people, so I could take photos, the roof structure was made of massive beams, the walls were made of brick in mortar. Old edition of the farm in a new style.

Viennese steak prepared in the traditional way.
There are long stories and legends about this steak, the city of Vienna is considered to be its origin. It is probably the best steak from Viennese cuisine, but today it is prepared by everyone around the world, so in our country it is prepared in the traditional way. Meat about 4 mm thick, then laid in flour on both sides, then in egg, and finally in pretzels, when fried in deep oil, they are so crispy and soft inside.
Cevapi:
Chevapi are an unavoidable traditional dish in our country in Serbia, both younger and older people like it. The preparation of Chevapi is made of two types of minced meat and is served in different ways depending on where you are. In this case, Chevapi and french fries are the choice of my son, who loves Chevapi.
Our experience in the restaurant was the result of many years of carefully selected recipes of our grandmothers. And the flavors are complemented by fresh groceries coming from the rural household. Wonderful views of the surroundings from that height and the old farmhouse in the new edition.
