Merchants open halkhata and offer sweets to their consumers and buyers. In villages, people pass the day meeting one another, giving and receiving invitations, arranging traditional games and enjoying music by local performers.
On this day we wish each other by saying in Bangla“Shuvo Noboborsho” in English it means Happy new year. In Dhaka, people visit the ‘Gono Sangeeter Ashor’ at Ramana Batamul in the morning.

How I celebrated this day
Besides In the morning eat watered rice with onion, green chilli and Hilsha fish.
After that I had already decided what am I gonna wear. I don’t wear saree often. I would like to wear saree only on occasions because it’s kinda suffocating to wear it all day long . I have sweating problem that’s why I don’t wear saree that much.
From online I had ordered a neckwear and ear ring set to match with my saree.
Then I go out walking. With my friends and family.
I went to Bashundhara city complex to have my favourite chocolate milkshake with boba . But it was unavailable.
