A visit to Ocean Park in Hong Kong years ago led us to the Ocean Theater for the Dolphins and Sea Lions show. After exploring many attractions of the park and getting up close the Ocean's Magnet, we rode the cable car up to the summit late afternoon where we enjoyed much of the view although it was gloomy and the sky was cloudy.
We passed by the Pacific Pier, watched some sea lions on their turf and then headed to the Dolphinarium for the show.
The show started with an introduction by one of the trainers while the dolphins stayed under the water for a little while. Then they slowly started to surface, probably after hearing a cue word from the host.
The beautiful spectacles begun where the dolphins did a series of exhibitions. The crowd couldn't contain the excitement and would let out "wow" now and then. Most on their phones capturing moments.
While the trainer read a story, the dolphins did their thing. Jump, flip, dive down, then surface again.
It's just mesmerizing to see how these beautiful wonders whom they refer to as "Bottlenose Dolphins" interact with their trainers and follow their instructions playfully.
Then there were also the sea lions. Pardon me for these poor quality images. I had to give them some cartoon effect after zooming them in for a closer and a little better view.
More acts and stunts happened then more dolphins and trainers joined the show which made it even more fun to watch with their coordinated movements.
Towards the end of the show, two sea lions were brought closer to the audience where they tried to interact with those who went near them.
This had been one amazing experience which got pulled out of the memory bank today after seeing the photos from the archives.
