Hello beautiful friends,
I'm here to tell you about my second day in Paris during my splendid vacation in one of Europe's most beautiful capitals, in my opinion. It's a place that everyone should visit at least once in their life, not only because it's a wonderful romantic destination that lovers must experience.
On my second day, I decided to visit the Musée Yves Saint Laurent. I'm not sure if any of you are familiar with it, but I've had the chance to visit it in the past. This museum showcases the works of the renowned fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent, who happens to be one of my favorite designers. You might know that for a period of time, when I was a bit younger, I worked in the fashion industry in Milan. This also granted me the fortune of knowing many people in the field. In fact, I didn't have to pay the entrance fee for this museum because a dear friend of mine provided me with free tickets. Otherwise, the entrance fee is around 10 euros, but there are also discounts available, such as for journalists.
I had wanted to visit this beautiful museum for quite some time, and it was a part of my plan for this vacation in Paris. This museum is located within the building that houses this prestigious haute couture house. Of course, I was truly impressed by how they managed to recreate such a wonderful atmosphere within the museum.
I recommend it primarily to those who are passionate about fashion and clothing in general. However, my visit was quite short as the museum isn't very large. In the end, there's also an opportunity for some shopping, which I naturally took advantage of.
Later, feeling a bit hungry, I headed to a historic Parisian restaurant called Le Procope. Some of you who have already visited Paris might know about it and might have had a meal there. It was recommended to me by a friend as a place to try typical Parisian dishes. It's said that this restaurant has hosted many famous figures throughout its history since its establishment in 1686, including Voltaire, Victor Hugo, and Napoleon.
As I mentioned, I ordered dishes that had somewhat unpronounceable names, partly because I'm not so skilled in French. I must say that I was very satisfied with what I ate. Naturally, the bill at the end was quite substantial, as is common in Paris, and considering that it's a historic restaurant.
Afterward, I took a stroll around the area and then ventured out in the evening to explore Paris by night. It was a wonderful experience because, honestly, I had never seen any European city at night before. Usually, during the day, I'm quite busy sightseeing, and by evening, I'm usually too tired and end up going to bed. Nevertheless, I believe it's something that should be done often when visiting these cities.
Stay tuned because I still have several things to share about my vacation in Paris. Hopefully, though, I managed to convey my appreciation for this museum, which, from my perspective, is worth visiting. However, as I mentioned earlier, I recommend it mainly for fashion enthusiasts; otherwise, it could become quite tedious.
Overall, after these first two days, I'm very pleased with Paris. As I explore this city, I'm realizing just how much more beautiful it is compared to Milan. I'm sorry to say it, but there's no city in Italy that can compete with Paris.
Until next time!!
