While spending some time in America last year with my cousin and his wife we had already seen many interesting national parks , valleys and lakes but on this part of our journey touring around America we had planned to visit the big city of Las Vegas but not before stopping for a few hours at the Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada. This Valley of Fire State Park is a public recreation and nature preservation area consisting of a area of nearly 46,000 acres and for only $10 US , a car full of family or friends can check out this state park in Nevada which is only an hour away from Las Vegas city.
This Valley of Fire is one brilliant colorful spot with stunning red and pink rock formations they were amazing to see. There are hieroglyphics from ancient Indians on the rocks as well as awesome rock structures from the wind and once flowing water which has carved the valley throughout the ages.
If you love hiking then Mouse's trail and the White Dome trails features 3000 year old petroglyphs as much as 15 meters high ( 50 ft high ) through a valley. Great exploring trails, where you're encouraged to hike off the main path. If you love to explore, Mouse's trail is one of the best trails you'll find anywhere.
I loved the exclusivity of the place. I was told that it is a good camping site if you want to see a lot of stars at night. It is a great place to hike or walk around my eyes were always feasting on those wonderful rock formation and petroglyphs well maybe cause , i am always astounded with rock formations. Just make sure to check the temperature before going because it can get too hot during summer or too cold during winter so be prepared.
It is best to arrive at sunrise not only because it's cooler in the early morning but it is also , as we were told the best time to see the natural wildlife. We saw many birds and desert sheep's if you drive slowly they will let you come near and the first thing we saw once we entered the park was a bighorn sheep that was something we were not expecting 😆
This place honestly does not look real , it looks like something out of a movies we were seeing panoramic view of the multi-colored sandstone formations at Rainbow Vista. There was beautiful red rock formations in an area named Seven Sisters, where one can all picnic. Not far from the East Entrance is Elephant Rock and been just such a large area there are other areas to visit with views of different rock formations and many other awesome trails to hike. There is only one main road that runs through the valley called Valley of Fire Scenic Byway which is about 18 kilometers long ( 11 miles ) and connects both the east and west entrances of Valley of Fire state park.
The Valley of Fire is well known for it's colorful stunning red sandstone's and amazing rock formations which illuminate the valley especially if you were to be there at sunset you would think the whole valley is on fire.
Really was a impressive state park. The views were amazing and lots of different things to see, even if you were doing a car tour. This place was absolutely breathtaking! We didn’t have time for any hikes but did drive around much of the park, stopping to walk around and take photos. If you plan to visit, you’ll want to give yourself at least half a day here there were so many cool rock formations to see. I am glad we took the time to visit and was definitely worth the $10 US .... I did leave with a big smile 😊
