The morning I made my walk to the Ecocentro of Puerto Madryn, my friend's parents had gone for a walk on the opposite side to where I was. At that moment it seemed appropriate not to go together, since it would have been strange for me to go alone with the two of them. Although they had told me that they had no problem with it, we went our separate ways. When we all got back together, they told me that they had seen a whale very close to the coast at the pier, which made me very envious because I didn't see any on my walk even though I also had a good time. As a consolation, later I went for a walk that way, but this time without as much luck as they did 😔😅.
La mañana en la que realicé mi caminata hasta el Ecocentro de Puerto Madryn, los padres de mi amiga habían ido a caminar por el lado contrario al que fui yo. En ese momento me pareció adecuado no ir juntos, ya que hubiese sido raro que yo vaya solo con ellos dos. Aunque me habían dicho que no tenían problema en que así fuera, tomamos caminos opuestos. Cuando todos regresamos y nos reunimos, me contaron que en el muelle habían visto una ballena muy cerca de la costa, lo que me dio mucha envidia porque yo no vi ninguna en mi paseo a pesar de que también la pasé bien. Como consuelo, más tarde salí a caminar para ese lado, pero esta vez sin tanta suerte como ellos 😔😅.
The first time we went to Puerto Madryn with my friend, I got the impression that this place in Chubut was a bit like Mar del Plata, on the shores of Buenos Aires. Both sites are very large tourist spots with a large urban development, although the second is much more crowded on vacations because it is located in the country's capital. In any case, Puerto Madryn is unique for its whale breeding season, which we enjoyed for more than a week on our trip, and for the color of the sea, which is very different from the Buenos Aires beaches 😃.
La primera vez que fuimos a Puerto Madryn con mi amiga me dio la impresión de que este lugar en Chubut se parecía un poco a Mar del Plata, en las costas de Buenos Aires. Ambos sitios son puntos turísticos muy grandes con un gran desarrollo urbano, aunque el segundo es bastante más concurrido en las vacaciones por ubicarse en la capital del país. De cualquier forma, Puerto Madryn es única por su temporada de reproducción de ballenas, la cual disfrutamos por más de una semana en nuestro viaje, y por el color del mar, el cual es muy distinto al de las playas bonaerenses 😃.
My goal was to get to the pier, which was about 3 km from our accommodation. The rest of my companions decided to stay and rest on the beach, but I wanted to keep walking a little more so I did that. It was a weekday but everything was quite crowded ❣️.
Mi objetivo era llegar hasta el muelle, el cual estaba a unos 3 km de nuestro alojamiento. El resto de mis acompañantes decidió quedarse a descansar en la playa, pero yo tenía ganas de seguir caminando un poco más así que eso hice. Era día de semana pero todo estaba bastante concurrido ❣️.
Throughout the boulevard on the way to the pier there are different descents with inns to eat or drink something, and on the opposite side the big city with the typical gastronomic offer. By combining city and beach you can have the best of both options and you would never get bored. This city has a cinema, theater, squares, supermarkets, restaurants and on the outskirts, beautiful places to go to enjoy the landscapes and see wild animals. Everything is quite clean in this area, it shows that it is the center of everything ❤️.
En toda la rambla camino al muelle hay distintas bajadas con paradores para comer o beber algo, y en el lado de enfrente la gran ciudad con la típica oferta gastronómica. Al combinar ciudad y playa podes tener lo mejor de ambas opciones y nunca te aburrirías. Esta ciudad tiene cine, teatro, plazas, supermercados, restaurantes y en las afueras, lugares hermosos para ir a disfrutar los paisajes y ver animales silvestres. Todo esta bastante limpio por esta zona, se nota que es el centro de todo ❤️.
There is also a small walk of artisans in case you like to take a souvenir home. In my family we like crafts, but the gifts they prefer are those that can be eaten, so later I decided to bring some chocolates. Either way, the fair looked cute and featured a variety of jewelry, dolls and knitted clothing, and classic gift items like almanacs, key holders, and hand-carved "mates" ❣️.
También hay un pequeño paseo de artesanos por si gustas llevar algún recuerdo a casa. En mi familia nos gustan las manualidades, pero los regalos que ellos prefieren son los que se pueden comer, así que más tarde opté por llevar unos chocolates. De cualquier modo, la feria se veía linda y contaba con variedad de joyería, muñecos y ropa tejida y artículos clásicos de regalos como almanaques, portallaves y mates tallados a mano ❣️.
Walking a little more I was able to finally reach the pier. I was already in this place in April and I remember that day as the worst windy day I have ever experienced, but this time it was very different. It was hot and not cold at all, and you could walk around without your hair sticking to your face. The entrance to this pier is free and on the side of the main street there is a sidewalk where you can walk or chairs to sit and look at the sea a bit ❣️.
Caminando un poco más pude llegar al muelle al fin. Yo ya estuve en este lugar en Abril y recuerdo ese día como el de peor viento que viví en mi vida, pero esta vez fue muy diferente. Hacía calor y nada de frío, y podías caminar sin que el pelo se te pegue en la cara. La entrada a este muelle es libre y al costado de la calle principal hay una vereda en donde podes caminar o sillas para sentarte a mirar un poco el mar ❣️.
It was already late in the afternoon and although I was hoping to see some more whales, since the pier is almost 300 meters long, this was not the case. I suppose that what my friend's parents saw was something unique, since from the videos they recorded, the two whales they saw were circling the boats moored in the port. They were probably a little disoriented, because everyone says that they don't usually get that close to here, but luckily for those who were just walking around at that moment, they let themselves be seen more closely 🙂.
Ya eran altas horas de la tarde y aunque tenía la esperanza de ver alguna ballena más, ya que el muelle tiene casi 300 metros de largo, esto no fue así. Supongo que lo que los padres de mi amiga vieron fue algo único, ya que por los videos que ellos grabaron, las dos ballenas que vieron estaban dando vueltas alrededor de los barcos amarrados al puerto. Probablemente estaban un poco desorientadas, porque todo el mundo dice que no suelen acercarse tanto hasta acá, pero para la suerte de los que justo paseaban por ahí en ese momento, se dejaron ver más de cerca 🙂.
I'm also not complaining so much because on this trip we got tired of seeing whales (I'm lying, we didn't get tired because these giants of the sea are amazing), but seeing them as close as they did would have been great. I already told them that on the next trip we take together with them and my friend, I'm going to chase them everywhere so we can all see the same thing. Just kidding, the walk on the beach was good and I got a lot of fresh air on one of the last days of our holidays ❣️.
Tampoco me quejo tanto porque en este viaje nos cansamos de ver ballenas (estoy mintiendo, no nos cansamos porque estos gigantes del mar son asombrosos), pero verlas tan de cerca como las vieron ellos hubiese sido genial. Ya les dije que en el próximo viaje que hagamos juntos con ellos y mi amiga los voy a perseguir a todos lados para que todos podamos ver lo mismo. Solo bromeo, la caminata por la playa estuvo bien y me sirvió para tomar bastante aire fresco en uno de los últimos días de nuestras vacaciones ❣️.
