Hello guys,
I missed writing a travel post, so here I am. ππ
Lately, I did some changes and upgrades on my PC and right now, I don't have all my data and files, but I found these photos so I thought this will do.
Cleveland Dam is located in such a beautiful place, with a lake view and mountains all around.
The Dam is a place where you can enjoy peace, easy parking, nice place for a picnic and outdoor activities like walking or hiking. It has beautiful trails too, I heard.
We were just visiting, but this location definitely is worth your time if you're around.
Cleveland Dam is located over Capilano River, in North Vancouver. The place is near Capilano Suspension Bridge, a very beautiful travel experience and destination (I'll write a post about this too).
Some Wikipedia Facts and Data about the Dam
The Cleveland Dam is a 91-metre high concrete dam at the head of the Capilano River in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada that holds back Capilano Lake, also known as Capilano reservoir.
The dam is named after engineer Ernest Albert Cleveland who envisioned the need for the proper maintenance of a pristine and efficient water supply as well as sustainable use of water resources.

There were also some accidents happening along the time because of the the lack of warning signs.
I think the view is amazing. I mostly enjoyed the sound of water repeatedly falling downstream.
I really love how you can see the water flowing between the rocks that surround it on the left and right. The darkness of the depths, the green and the water are in perfect harmony, in my opinion.
The dam itself is just a dam, and not a huge one. Its reason for being is the water reservoir right behind, which is where youβll find the photogenic scenery with the Lions Mountain in the background.
You canβt go inside the Cleveland Dam, but you can walk across and look down from the top. The reservoir, Capilano Lake, supplies about a third of Metro Vancouverβs fresh water.
The lake water you see at the Cleveland Dam is pristine, which is why Vancouver has some of the purest drinking tap water in the world (even better than much of the bottled water you can buy). Itβs also why there is a fence around the lake preventing people from touching it. Source here
From parking lot there's a just a short walk until you reach the dam and the beautiful lake sight.
The lake is what makes this place special. The view over the lake with The Lions peaks in the landscape is breath taking.
We stayed a bit here, took some photos, enjoyed the view. You know...the normal stuff you do when you visit a new place like this.
The area is clean. The good part is that Cleveland Dam is near the Grouse Mountain and Capilano Suspension Bridge. You can do all in one day.
I've wrote about Grouse Mountain hike trail here, in case you want to see it.
This view on Capilano Lake is AMAZING. β€οΈ
What a picturesque place, don't you think? π
I really really love this scenic view of the lake and that green cabin is another piece of beauty making this place even more scenic than it is already!
So yeah, I guess that's all I can say about this place based on my own experience.
The whole area here in Vancouver is gorgeous. If I were to go further, I would say that the entire Vancouver area has a lot to offer if you travel here, and going even further, the whole of British Columbia is amazing.
Take care, Missdeli
